Driver's seat back snapped during pull

Hello everyone,

Today during a pull, I was thrown back into my seat so hard during the shift from 1st to 2nd that the back of my driver's seat snapped. Needless to say, the lumbar support is gone (doesn't respond when I try to adjust it). Was wondering what my options are? Does anyone think it would be possible to have it repaired or am I buying a new seat?

Depends, are you still under warranty? If you're stuck paying for it, check out some mustang recyclers and find a good used seat. You can always reuse your seat covers if the replacement is torn up or otherwise damaged. I keep seeing one on facebook, if I see it again, I'll get the name.

Seats can be complicated.

I cannot speak to the price, but I'd review whatever warranties are involved, if buying from a reseller.

Did you check the seat has power? Is it possible you snapped a cable or a connector underneath the seat?

Go on ebay, or this forum (or FB
MP) and buy a used front S550 seat.

Or maybe go aftermarket for seats - Corbeau makes good seats for Mustangs.

The way you describe it, it sounds like you might've snapped the cable for the lumbar. A blessing in disguise, if you ask me.

Yes, the seat has power. When it snapped, it sounded like something cracked in the back on the seat.
