On the driver side the power windows stop working. To get them to work I take the door panel off and just touch the connection to window motor, it works again for a while then when it stops I do this procedure all over again.
QUESTION how do I permantly fix this? If the solution is to unplug it and put dielectric grease into plug what is the procedure to unplug it? It is incide the door and I can only put 1 hand on it.

Remove the speaker and you get a lot more room to get at the plug.
Most times the window problem is water in the plug. Unplug it, dry it well and add some dielectric grease. This should solve it for awhile.

If you don't want to do this again in about a year replace the motor too. If you take a tin snip you can get the top motor bolt without messing with the regulator, and the motor simply unbolts and can be replaced easy. Only need to trim about 1/4 inch of metal to get to it.

None of it is a guarantee, mine is doing the up/down dance again. Motor replaced about 2 years ago. I put grease in the plug so not sure why.

I'm letting ESP deal with it this time.

I took the panel off and do not know how to take the connector off. I just jiggled the wires and now it works. Any secrets shared to unplug the connector would be great.

It's got a push tab, squeeze it, helps to take the speaker out. 3 bolts IIRC.

Exactly, nearly every automotive connector has a lock. Most you just squeeze the tab and pull. They can be tight and hard to pull. They can take a little fiddling or a small flat head screwdriver to give it a little pry. Some need a small push in before pulling out. Just make sure you are squeezing the tab firmly. Also some connectors have a secondary lock, often a red tab that has to be slid back before the other tab can be squeezed.
And, as has been said, remove stuff in the way as much as you can to give more room. Door panels are small enough, don't try to make it harder just because you don't want to remove a few screws.

The next time it happens I will unplug it. When I had the cover off nothing looked like it was squeezable to remove plug

I might be back into mine. If I do I'll post a pic of the plug. Looks like the motor is less than my deductible and the shop has not called me back for 3 days. When I called them they say they are still waiting on approval from the ESP company.

They're not always easy to see. Their the same color as the plug and sometimes turned in such a way as to be hard to see and harder to reach.
Remember, automotive design engineers actively hate repair techs and especially DIYers...
