Seems to be a common issue. Mine is leaking 1300 miles total and I noticed it awhile ago when bleeding brakes. Took her in for first oil change and they ordered new parts. Not a big issue unless it continues to happen. Mine is a Feb 16 build.

Luckily havent had that issue on mine, but I have dealt with it on my daily driver one to many times.

Just got back from my Service Department. They didn't see anything wrong with the boot. They said I should bring it back in if more grease shows up or if the CV starts making noise. They need proof to send to Ford in order to make a warranty claim. Guess I shouldn't have cleaned up the mess when I discovered it.
Unless you bought the car used, and/or it's possible that you had a previous axle replaced (and whoever replaced it didn't clean up that axle's grease), then I would try to get the dealer to replace it. It was pretty hard to find the area my outer boot was leaking, your dealer may not have been that thorough. Perhaps even try another area dealer? Show them this thread or at least pictures of multiple owners having this issue AND having no hassle replacements. Good luck!

They didn't repack it with grease either?

They didn't think the grease came from the boot, because they couldn't find a problem with the boot. I'm supposed to come back if more grease shows up or when the half shaft starts making noise!

I purchased my GT350 new on 9/20/2017 from the same dealership. I'll ask around to find a better Ford service department in Maryland.

Love these forums. Just discovered this problem on my new 17... First noticed it at 300 miles in, didn't think much of it, figured it just flung some excess from an over greased part. At 1800 miles now, and just wiped off a gobs of the stuff. Schedule service for next week!

my 2016 just hit 5,000 miles pulled out of the garage and saw grease on the ground. Took a look and it is all over just like the other pictures here. Calling the dealer tomorrow.

Hope this got fixed on 2018 Mustangs. My ā€˜18 PP2 Car has a 2018 part number for the driver’s side half shaft.

Just had it blow on my car at 3800 miles. After the engine blew at 2300 miles.

Taking my 2018 GT350 in for a new half shaft today. My boot failed at around 900 miles. So I’m pretty sure it’s still an issue with 18’s
