You can take it to a local dealer. It's just a standard warranty issue.
I am. I work at an office right behind a Ford dealer. Unfortunately some of my coworkers have had bad experiences with them. I've been spending the last couple days searching for the best dealer I can find near me. After several recommendations I'm going to one tomorrow morning. I'll follow up with results.

Car is at the dealer. I didn't get to take a look at it myself or get a picture despite me requesting to see it while it was on the lift. They were "so busy" and all the other excuses, it was on the lift and off in a flash.

They said it's the axle and it will need to be replaced. I asked the service tech to take a picture of it for me next time it's in the air. I didn't see any tear or leak from the seal when I looked at it at home. I'll follow up with results ... but I'm a bit annoyed that my brand new car has done this.

I guess it's good that most of these issues people are having seem to be really random. I had a broken seat wiring connector but no other issues thus far. Other than Limp Mode due to no coolers.

I discovered a small tear on my left rear outer axle boot just inboard of the clamp. Gonna take it to my dealer for warranty too. Same grease shoth onto parking brake cable and drop link.

Update

Stopped by the service department this morning and had the tech and service director show me the car. They claim the CV boot has failed and needs to be replaced if they are able to. Otherwise they will replace the axle. They are waiting to hear back from parts or something on whether they can just do a boot or the entire axle needs to be replaced.

I spoke with Ford Performance and they told me that everything the dealer has found and told me seems believable. They confirmed the grease used in our half-shaft's CV joints is different than other Mustangs and cars. It is yellow in color and is some "special high pressure" grease.

Anyway, the dealer has "ordered parts from Detroit" and told me it should take a couple of days.

Meanwhile, I bought one of the most expensive Fords (not including the GT) and I'm currently driving around one of the cheapest :frusty:. Though the Fiesta is kind of hilarious to drive...

This is the exact same care my fiance has, minus the tint.
PS Good luck with the car

Got the car back fixed, way quicker than I expected. I'm happy with the dealer I chose to take the car to! They told me in the end it was around $650~ in labor and parts. Considering we have unique half-shafts that Ford only sells as a complete unit (can't buy CV boots separate for instance), I'm pretty surprised it was so cheap. Granted my only point of reference is a $15k~ warranty job I had done with my last car (09 GT-R)!

From the paper work it looks like they replaced a rear axle shaft assembly, some dust seal, and some fluid for the rear diff which they topped off. According to the MyKey, they drove the car 5.4 miles. They didn't keep it outside and listened to my request to not wash it (they would've run it through their automated wash). They seemed to have treated the car well, I looked it over pretty good when I picked it up.

Now back to getting those miles on!

Great looking paint. What wax or sealant are you using?

The car is actually somewhat dirty in the pic haha. It's just so new that it's still shiny. I guess the dealer I took delivery from put something on it? I'm still looking into getting paint correction and PPF. It does look great in pics though!

I'm quoting out CQuartz but the rational part of brain is wondering if someone is laughing all the way to the bank and supplying a 1200 wax job.

I'm not an expert on detailing and these sealants, but I have a neighbor who had some sealant done on a new car 4 years ago. He told me he's done no wax or polishing since, only simple washes. His car looks great every time I see it.

Wow! It never even occurred to me to set up a MyKey for the specific purpose of trips to the service department... That's brilliant!! Thanks for the idea!
