Does anyone know how to disable the double horn honk when exiting the car when it is on. I have searched and found ForScan but I am not that technical. Are there any other solutions? I thought this would be a simple setting adjustment.

I agree, it is very annoying. I have not intentionally used a horn on one of my cars in probably 30 years. I do however sometimes miss not having a siren. :)

Just pull a wire off the horn then, problem solved. :)

That had crossed my mind, believe me. :) If I was the only driver I probably would.

It is very annoying. I was backing out and forgot to pull the trashcan out for trash pick up. I put the car in park and go get the trashcan and the car double honks. It was 5:45am.
What I do is let the door shut but not close tight.
I think the door was still open but maybe not.

If you don't close it completely, the horn won't honk. I just close it to the first click if I have to go back in the house for something. I understand why they did it, but it would've been much nicer if they'd set up a more subtle electronic beeeeeeeeep, rather than a horn honk.

Since this action(double horn honk) is controlled by a computer module, you have to use software to disable it. The only software I am aware of is Forscan. It takes very little technical ability to disable. There is a write up somewhere around here that details everything.

It's a really annoying feature. I wish you could just turn it off in the vehicle menu settings...

When I push (touch) the door handle to lock, all is quite.
Just the locking sound.

I absolutely hate it too. I get around it by not fully shutting the door I just let it barely latch when the car is running.

What kind of device do you need to use forscan? Could any of you guys do a basic write up of tools needed and the procedure?

Just read through the ForScan documentation closely. It does seem intimidating (and I used to work in hex).
Here's the entry in the BCM:
Double-honk 726-41-02: xxx0 xxxx xxxx
Change the fourth digit to "0"
