  6. top speed question!

2015 3.7V6 AT w/3.31 rear gear. I hit 120 from 60 at the blink of an eye, thinking that was showing around 4k RPM, but not sure,- that was fast enough for me at age 68! There was STILL alot of revs left, so CURIOUS George would like to hear some of your stories- but please keep them REAL!
  7. How hard is it to add friction modifier to the rear end?

THANKS TO ALL! I got the FORD Friction Modifer and found a shop that would put it in the rear end for $15- most I talked to wanted $55 (.5 hours). But, the shop showed me the grease and he thought it was due, so he drained/filled it w/SYN grease and added my lube for $80. NOISE IS GoNE!

The car sat in my garage for 7 months last year but I've been driving it some since xmas. Hoping it would go away, but, not yet. I...
  12. Slight grinding noise....

thanks, not sure but think this base v6 has an open rear. It may have had one axle replaced as well. I did have the fluid checked last year and he had to add some... so you were getting a grinding like noise- as you say, only as I turn. George
  13. Slight grinding noise....

2015 V6 a/t, low miles, started noticing this recently- not sure where its coming from. ALso the car sits in the garage for 6 months and then its only driven maybe once in two weeks around town briefly. Noise is also heard a little on backing up, when turning the wheel. Car rides and drives...

  16. no responses on the Transmission forum.....

SUCCESS! The transmission was one quart low (over55K miles), and the rear end was over 1/2 quart low. Sure glad I made sure those things were checked before I hit the road after the holidays- got my car w/55K miles and no history and now feel much better about it being road ready!

No luck finding the official fill level w/hot FLUID, finally called the dealer, and w/the VIN, he quickly told me to the upper level of the B scale- which is the top one on the dip stick. Case closed!
