Those stupid loud exhaust systems fall under model "LDS", Ironically, the same label associated with rolling coal trucks. In case you're wondering; "LDS" stands for "Little D*ck Syndrome". Haha.

I preferred the GM factory Turbo mufflers on my Camaro with added 427 3x2 and my 63 Corvette 340hp solid lifter. The factory N1 exhaust of the C2 was essentially the GM turbo muffler.

Very little restriction unlike the bombs!
...we didn't have the throw away money then that you guys have today.
Besides, everyone had them back then, Cherry Bombs or Thrush..................... :like:

Interesting thread, seems like most Mustang owners would be tolerant of other owners choice of mods. But the nasties sure jumped on this one, when it’s none of their business.
Regardless of LDS, seems like some of these boys need to be more worried about a little close companionship rather than a little red muffler. Unless there has been an attempt at a close relationship with their favorite exhaust system……

Having the loudest exhaust on the block proves what then ? it ain't for power, cause this ain't 1960's exhaust tech. There is ZERO hp gain's between dumps, & a full/complete/non-obnoxious 3" kit for example.

Lol I was literally just curious if ataks were made as axle backs only, not sure why there’s some negativity on here.

The noise po po has spoken. Now we can all unplug our ears and wait for the next edict from behind the curtain.

Yes, Atak is available axle back. Is your Google broken?

No, you can't get all butthurt over a dick joke or an extreme opinion on the internet. We drive Mustangs, people say far worse about us wherever we go anyway.

I am not going to say if I remember the ole Thrust, I mean Thrush or was that Trash mufflers or if it is just a figment of my imagination. Heck, I think I do remember having them on the ole "GOAT".

Ah, the good old days…….😊

Googly is slanted, overall unreliable, the worst browser ever.

Then go back to the old catalog rack we used to use to find parts? Or use a text based alternative from your Linux machine sorting through all the formatting code like a super dork from the Matrix? Not really sure what kind of tinfoil hat you're wearing. I was referring to a search result not a browser.

...yea, but we didn't have 4 to 500 hp stock back then.
It was all about noise and how good the car sounded, cam and all.

I can still hear the '66 Chevelle with the built 396 and a Roller cam.
Awesome, awesome sound.
You'll never get the sound like that out of one of the fart can
exhausts on these babes...................:like:

I disagree with not having 400 to 500 hp back then and car not sounding good. My 64 GTO 389 tri power with 4 speed, posi and delete A/C. PS, PB and sound proofing and mastic made 450hp and would run 12.70s off the showroom floor. It was the one that outran the 327 fuelie vette for showroom stock performance. Thanks to Fred Wagners and John DeLorean.

Car weighed only 2875 pounds per FL vehicle registration.

I had headers and cherry bomb header glass pack with 2 1/2" pipes out the back in stock exit locations and it made more noise backing off the throttle than it did accelerating. It had the famous Pontiac growl when letting off throttle at 5500 rpm and would rattle store windows and scare old ladies next to you when you backed off for an upshift.

I sure do miss that car.
