I'm not sure if anyone realize but 9.65 run has been done in Gainesville, FL during 39.9f weather with DA of -1300. Good luck getting 9s during regular florida day.
That 202MPH top speed for the 2013 - '14 GT500 was also done "somewhere in Italy" whatever that means...

Don't get too bold about dogging on claims made by manufacturers because ALL of them play the odds to their favor including our beloved Ford.

Now that Dodge is best strongest muscular car with Devil car, who here is trading their ponies?

840 HP > 435 HP.

:frusty:

Will Ford Shelby give GT500 more HP?
If not why not?

Supercharger plus twin turbo is solution. Do they know?

Sure and $80K* > $40K ... :D

No, I don't think the GT500 HP will be in the same area as the Demon, different design goals, buyer demographics, etc. I _do_ believe the GT500 via a 5.2L CPC twin turbo engine, will be just over 700.

* With only 3000 being built, $80K is probably a "bargain price"

IMO anyone that has a GT isn't looking for Demon. Completely different categories.

I think the Demon is a one-off specialty car. I don't think Ford will care about matching or beating it. Probably significantly less than it actually, different category.

It's a great time to be a car enthusiast! I've been hearing for about a year from someone inside Ford that the upcoming GT500 will be 850+ hp. Demon vs GT500 is going to be insane!

Some of us actually like (and own) GT's and Challengers. The cars aren't really all that different in the grand scheme of things.

My source within Ford has been telling me for about a year that the next GT500 will be 850+ hp, putting it right in line with the Demon.

On a track a 700+hp GT500 would smoke the demon, but on a straight line, not even the $400K GT can beat it. I still can't believe Dodge pulled a 0-60 in 2.3 seconds and a 1/4 mile in 9.65 with a challenger.

?
It's a dedicated drag car. Ford and chevy have already done this, they just dont have VINS or titles

Enjoy each vehicle for what it is and does? :) (This is coming from a guy who has had smart cars :p), and still has a few BMWs. I enjoy the mustang for what it is, but still get a kick from driving other cars.

I like the tool kit and jack it comes with. Wish Ford would do that with their special vehicles.

Cobra Jet, COPO Camaro can't be driven on the street legally. You can drive the Demon to the track and back home after drag racing.

Can Ford make a car that competes or beats the Demon, of course. But they haven't, and probably won't. The Demon is not just a Challenger with some parts slapped on it. It just seems some people want to downplay what it is and can do.
