Thanks Steven,
Being in the Midwest like me, what do you run for tires?
I don't plan on running in the winter, just dry. But we do go up North and will probably stuck in rain.
Do you run a summer tire, or have you migrated to something else. Our roads are the same as you have with pot holes and such.
I drive mine all year round. Continental Extreme Contact Sport in summer and Bridgestone Blizzak in winter. Conti’s are great in the wet and dry

So I have finally gotten the ok to purchase a mustang. Unfortunately, per the wife, it needs to be a convertible and auto so she can drive it.
Does not make me happy, but any way I can get one, I'll take it!
I have been looking for my specs: Auto, Active Exhaust, Performance Pack, Magna Ride and Digital Dash (401A). And her specs: Auto, Convertible, not a black exterior.

I have been having a hard time finding that package in a convertible. I guess the question is do I really need the performance package? Because of the convertible, I cannot hit the tracks around here without a roll bar anyway which I'm not going to do yet.
We are looking at 2020-2023. I can order a 2024 from the dealer, but getting up there in price, plus I do not want to wait until October.

Thoughts?
"Finally gotten the ok...." Wow, glad I don't have to worry about getting approval. Just giving you a hard time man. Enjoy your ride 😁

With the soft top I probably will skip the winter and drive my truck instead.

That makes sense. Winters are hard on the soft tops for sure.

Thanks to all that replied. With the info from member 2016S550, I purchased a 2023 convertible from Virginia. My wife got the convertible and auto trans, I got PP1, magna ride, active exhaust and 401a.
As someone else mentioned, did I need my options, nope, but I wanted them. Unfortunately I have a bunch of commitments this week and will not be able to play with it until Monday. Cannot wait. Now I just need to read up on S and S+

Very nice! I have a similar setup, minus the magneride, auto trans also courtesy of my wife.

I've played around with the different modes. My go-to "mymode" setup is Sport+, with track mode exhaust and sport steering.

The "sport" setting with the shifter seems to have little effect other than putting the car into the mode where the paddle shifters will hold the shift you pick. It may shift a bit earlier than drive but not noticeably.

Sport+ gives you more aggressive shifts and you also get throttle blips on downshift which I enjoy most of the time.

Track mode is best left to the track IMHO. It seems to delay throttle response a bit when you're down low in the rev range. I think it is trying to avoid traction loss through turns as you wouldn't want aggressive throttle response on the track.

Enjoy!

Thanks.
This morning was the first trip to work. Set quiet exhaust to get out of the subdivision then switched to S+ for everything.
we will see what tomorrow brings.

I do the same thing.
What I do is set the quiet hours of the exhaust to 24/7, that makes it always start up in quiet mode.
Then turn on MyMode to my preferred exhaust options, dash, etc... So it's a double tap on the switch as soon as I get out of the neighborhood.

Found On Road Dead.
The exhaustive search for a Mustang for my wife has ended with Mach 1 fighter jet gray. Now the quest is for All Weather tires which will fit it. Since it does have the HP the rims seem fairly big. To a tire dealer I go. This car rocks. Next it's Outlaw alloy hub half shafts, stop the hop street enthusiast kit. Tri as short throw shifter with blue aluminum ball, H pipe, and jacking rails. Lastly a centrifuge.

I have a 2021 GT convertible with the performance pack. I love it. Remember it comes with a 3.55 Torsen diff as well. That is valuable.

Do you need it? I don't think of a Mustang as a car that anyone "needs". It's an aspirational car. As such, I think the question should be "what do I want". Just my humble opinion.
