I agree with Adam, why anyone would put a cheap turbo on a brand new car is beyond me. If I decide to use my adaptor I'm sending it out to be jet hot coated and I'm using a Garret gt3076r with the ATP ultimate internal gate and my Turbosmart IWG....

They probably don't mind the leaks, rattles, and poor fitment or shortened life. I was that way once, 20 years ago.

Now I want OEM quality fit, finish, and performance. I don't want a ragged out car, or one that acts like it. Even if no one knows I jerry-rigged something it would bother me to no end. I fabbed some pretty trick brackets to run race seats on my factory tracks. The seats are sitting in the garage. Not because they turned out crappy, they are actually badass, I just don't like the seats- I need some factory recaros, my ass is picky.

It's cool to go fast on the cheap- that doesn't mean buying cheap parts, just doing more with less.

mmorningstar That looks cool, I wish I had more time to do some fab work. Between grad school, full time job, and my wife going back to school as well, I am pegged for time. Hell, I even sold my big lathe because I don't use it anymore. Hopefully things slow down in a year or two and I can do some cool stuff, probably on a fox notch- like a EB swap with my own BT kit, maybe even the TT EB....

No....the ATP ultimate internal gate consists of a 5 bolt to 3" vband adaptor with a large swing valve built into it, then I will use the Turbosmart IWG actuator to run it. Makes a Garret 5 bolt T3 look similar to an EFR. The swing valve can open almost fully.

May want to consider having a competent welder work on that adapter before you go slapping it on something.

I have had boost creep issues with a few turbos using an adapter like that
GT3076 and GT35R

I would recommend doing the Himni-racing one over the ATP one. The ATP one has the flapper going directly into a wall and could cause inconsistent boost. Plus the Himni-racing version is not as thick and will keep you from having to have a 90 degree bend be the first thing of your downpipe. You want to gradually bring the downpipe down and under the car.

Yes the picture I posted is not the completed part, there's some additional tweaks and Tig to be done, plus the jet hot coat but I'm unsure if I'm using it, so it's been shelved currently. I appreciate your concern.

modding a car is a very expensive hobby unless you buy ebay parts. you don't want ebay parts. why buy a $250 hks bov when you can buy a $35 hks ebay bov? because it will fall apart while youre driving down the road at some point.

I'll take that under advisement, but bc is dependent on lots of variables, just because car A creeps on that housing doesn't mean car B will experience it.

Depending where the CPE/AM setup comes in at I will probably be going that route anyway.....though the DIY in me really wants to try my idea......

I could tell by design, then someone comes in and confirms my theory. It will be even worse on the Mustang because of the head design. Also, you will have a tight fit on the ass end of that thing and the firewall.

Adam, I am currently looking at the turbo kits on the market. I know MAP has a kit. The have a journel bearing and a ball bearing. Which one will spool faster?
