Firestarter this is the one I was originally looking to purchase ,you have access from the sides and it lifts to 26" ,I like the access from sides as I've changed a couple of t5 and t56 in my cars and this would give the added clearance.

I was also looking at the quick jack which is about $400cheaper it looks like a nice unit for brakes ,oilchanges ect but there's no acces from side and it only raises car to 20" .

I know not everybody has a shop with a concrete floor and a ceiling high enough, but for nearly the money of some of the lifts being discussed here, you can just have a permanent two-post lift. Here's what I bought earlier this year, and the only thing I regret is not doing it 15 years ago: https://www.derekweaver.com/rodders-garage/2-post-lifts/weaver-w-9d-overhead-2-post-car-lift/

I found it on sale for $1795 with free shipping, so it was a better deal at the time.

Wouldn't work in my garage since my concrete is not 3000psi rebar reinforced. I wonder how many residential owners can meet these criterias !

Yeah my contractor say he did 6 inches but I dont trust him.

The quickjack and ez lift warranties seem a bit short to me.

The website states "rebar reinforced", but the installation manual does not. Most modern residential-grade concrete slabs are a minimum of 4" thick, reinforced with either wire mesh and/or fiberglass strands, and meet the 3000 PSI requirement. My shop slab had wire and fiberglass, and in the area where I knew I would be installing my lift, I dug out an additional 2" for a 6" pad.

You can easily test the thickness by drilling a small hole and measuring the depth at which the bit reaches the bottom of the concrete and meets the fill dirt beneath it.

Just ordered the QuickJack 5000...thanks for the post...was originally looking at a Bendpak but the Quickjack will suit my purposes just fine...love the fact that I stow it away when not in use!

Yes I have the BL-5000 with the 120 volt pump. The quickjack can be ordered with an optional 12 volt pump to make it 100% portable. The thing works great and its hell of lot better then ramps!

Sorry...need to thank JohnB as well!:clap2:

I'll likely follow your lead. It will do 99% of what I want
