Looks like absolute garbage. There is actually a clickable link for "Mods - Please Delete, Thanks" in the list of DIY articles. Don't think that qualifies.

Most of the rest of them are missing links due to the Photobucket fiasco. In order to prevent this, the site should have been offering picture hosting or rehosting photos for these DIYs because now they are just useless.

Are there any plans to get this cleaned up? It's rather useless as it sits.

Why don't you just use the full version instead of the archive? And the site can't do anything about Photobucket deciding to be assholes. Most people wouldn't use hosting here alone since so many post on multiple forms.

The site can offer rehosting of images as many do.

And when you search for a DIY, the archive is what comes up... so that's why I'm asking about it.

Any suggestions that are helpful, or nah?

The individual contributors who posted the initial DIY are the ones who would have to update any missing/broken/non-functional photo links. Unless the original OP revisits their DIY, they probably don't even know their pics are no longer functional.

This site or site owners have no responsibilities fixing or updating such broken links.

Unless someone is willing to reach out to all of the individual contributors to notify them of the issue, then unfortunately the threads will remain as is...

I would also suggest to others to post images directly to this site within a thread using the site's "attach image" functionality - it works perfectly and no need to use any third party photo hosting services. Using it reduces such image issues within threads in the future.

I don't think most of the people commenting on this thread (including OP) really understand what that link you provided is. The archive link exists for all the forums and is simply a link that lists ALL threads posted to the forum in chronological order. It is simply in a basic view (good for mobile - also notice the "PDA" link at the top right).

In the regular view, there are 25 threads per page and with 18 pages currently that is a max of 450 threads for this forum. Notice how the "Archive" lists 432 threads?

So it isn't a curated list/archive of quality DIY threads, just all the threads posted to this forum (including this one).

As for image hosting, everyone could have uploaded their images using the forum uploader but many use outside hosting to keep their images in one place for their own personal reference. Nothing that any of us can do about that other than the original poster of the guide if they still have copies of the photos.
