Yeah, a hit and run. Someone followed him and got his plate number. Sounds like they don't have paper work but they do have insurance.

GA is different than FL. No 1st party diminished value (DV) in Florida. Your best bet is the appraisal route you are already on. What might help as well is stressing the relatively low number of these cars on the road and how one with $31k in damage is going to stick out come resale time.

Yea i am in identical situation in FL with USAA and my Raptor.... 30k+ in damage and USAA pretty much told me to get f@cked as did the other parties insurance (progressive)... They told me to lawyer up if I wanted to pursue and USAA told me i'd have to sign a waiver releasing them and they will be no help. Been with them 25 years... Some "service" :(

Yeah that sucks. I'm meeting w/ an attorney in a couple of weeks. I sent over all the reports from the appraiser and State Farm hasn't said anything. I'm not taking $700. That's just bs.

My story had a better ending. Was sideswiped by a PU who had Auto Owners Ins. Auto Owners was a pleasure to deal with and my total repair bill was app $21k.

For diminished value I went to Car Max and got an offer which I used with the KBB value which showed a loss of value of app $8000. Turned paperwork into Auto Owners adj. about 2 weeks later I got an offer of $8500 which I took. The adj words were it's a Shelby so it's worth more.

I am now with Auto Owners Ins.

PS This was in FL

I just went through this with my RS5. I actually used a company to help me. The guy Justin is great and SUPER knowledgeable. He can write a demand letter explaining the true loss in value addressed to the insurance company. He doubled our original offer. Still didn’t get what we wanted but we got a huge unexpected amount for something involving medical so we just let it go.

The company is Petty Details out of Texas. He will help you for free, giving you advice on how to do it yourself or you can pay the fee and he will do the work for you.

*i think my letter was $100-200 and that’s FAR less than an attorney.
