Hello All.
has anybody changed their diff fluid with another brand instead of the motorcraft? If so what brand and number specs. I believe it should be 75 85 . I see vavoline and mobil 1 has a 75 90 blend wiht friction modifier included. I dont want to switch and mess up the gear box . Thank you in advance. 130 k miles on my 2015 mustang gt premium

PS: if you don't track the car at all or just rarely, you should be good with 75W-85 but if you do track it, you CAN take a 140 (that's 75W140) into consideration.

Motul 75W140 Gear Comptition. I change it every season cheap and works great.

75w140 BG Products because I am in a hot year round area. Check out Optimum Performance, he sells the kits and is a member here.

If you have a non-performance package car MAKE SURE you get a fluid with friction modifier, or you need to add it separate. With the performance package, it’s not a requirement.

^^ This.

Some of us (including me) like Valvoline because the squeeze pouch makes it super easy to put in the diff, and because it already contains the friction modifier.

I swapped my factory diff oil out at 7,000 miles for Redline 75W-110 in anticipation of track use. It includes friction modifier. I have UPR urethane diff bushing inserts (pucks) and sleeves. Before the diff oil change I could hear some minor diff gear whine at highway cruise speeds with the windows up and radio off. It's now silent.

Thank you . The oe motorcraft is more expensive than the brands mentioned on this post.

Mobile 1 Delvac 75w-90 full synthetic. You don't need a friction modifier with the Torsen diff btw.
