Maybe its just the difference in cameras, but has anyone noticed the difference in some of the headlight gills when they're lit up? I'll post some comparison photos below. But one looks plain white, and the other looks like a deeper blue color.

It's more than likely just the camera. These cars have HIDs though. The non-HID cars (like the red one that debuted at the TCL Chinese Theater) do in fact have different gills, along with a slightly different headlight.

hmm i havent seen that one. Im hoping they are more of the color of the DIB blue car, especially on that color. The blue gills would look good on black and white too i think.

I agree. Unfortunately, however, I don't believe that's the case. Every photo I've seen, other than Barrett Jackson, has shown a white-ish hue. That's not to say that you couldn't alter the color via some aftermarket means.

a little food for thought, I would guess the aftermarket group will come out with a sequential for the gills. wont get rid of the blinker brow, but would be nice if they incorporated a switchback for the gills

Even with different headlight assemblies, I wouldn't think they would change the gill lights.

The LED's are probably about a 5500k (Kelvin) rating, which is pretty much what Sunlight is. Inside the light would give off a slight blue haze if they were under less bright lights, but outside the sunlight would neutralize that blue, making them appear more white.

Well the gills are in fact different on the HID and non-HID cars. There was a thread discussing exactly this just a while back, though I'm not sure if it was on this site.

Can someone post a picture of the 2 different headlights being discussed (I guess non HID vs HID)? I have no been able to notice a difference. Is HID headlamps expected to be an option on all levels, or something that is standard on some models and optional on all?

i was wondering the same thing. Because the posts above talk about the movie theatre release party showed different headlights on the car, but they looked the same to me?

Non HID is missing the chrome around the amber lamp.........and has an additional (square) lamp next to the round projector :)

Keen observation there, I admit I had not paid that close attention.

So you guys mean different headlight design, not really the gills, which look to be the same.

I never noticed that either. But are they reallygonna have two different headlights? Seems kinda expensive for Ford, having multiple different parts for multiple trims would double the amount of parts needed to manufacture these cars (you would think)

It's possible. The headlamp assembly is a single unit so depending on wiring it could be a simple replace. It's also possible that now the Mustang is a global platform there are headlamp changes necessary to conform to other countries regulations. I know on the 2011 - 2014 models the HID and standard headlamp assemblies were unique. I cannot confirm if the wiring behind the scenes was identical. I would imagine not.

Yes, the gills looks similar. However, from some videos I've seen, especially one video of the red GT at the Venice Beach debut, the gills are not the same. What I mean is that, from what I've seen, the gills on the non-HID car are not LEDs like on the HID cars.
