To be fair, I'm sure Ford (and GM with the C6Z06/ZR1) is well aware that offering only one transmission option is limiting their sales. Those hi-po cars, however, were designed solely for purists, so they knew going into it that such cars weren't going to return significant profits anyway...

Yes, the gills looks similar. However, from some videos I've seen, especially one video of the red GT at the Venice Beach debut, the gills are not the same. What I mean is that, from what I've seen, the gills on the non-HID car are not LEDs like on the HID cars.

Well the gills are in fact different on the HID and non-HID cars. There was a thread discussing exactly this just a while back, though I'm not sure if it was on this site.

I agree. Unfortunately, however, I don't believe that's the case. Every photo I've seen, other than Barrett Jackson, has shown a white-ish hue. That's not to say that you couldn't alter the color via some aftermarket means.

It's more than likely just the camera. These cars have HIDs though. The non-HID cars (like the red one that debuted at the TCL Chinese Theater) do in fact have different gills, along with a slightly different headlight.
