Let's start some rumors.... There's a secret dyno room where they pull the pick-of-the-litter engines off the line and put a tiny red paint mark in a hidden spot to identify those engines as destined for an R-model....... and that's why they only build a limited number of those cars, there just aren't enough cream of the crop engines to go around.

Y'all don't know wtf you're talking about.

Differences in R motor are:

no resonators
fuel injected brake lines
larger capacity blinker fluid container
magnAride programming
world hunger
making america great again
hi flo air cleaner
non gmo
race car
I already removed my resonators so I should have the same power as an R, but I couldn't find these parts on the Ford Performance site...

fuel injected brake lines
larger capacity blinker fluid container

Do you think they'll offer them for sale later down the road?

p.s. I don't care about the World Hunger mod. It would probably cost as much as those ceramic lug nuts!

I like to disassemble things.
Not directly engine related, but always wondered why the restrictor plate in back of the grill was different on the Rs vs non-Rs. Its such a small difference, that it seems trivial, but must have been done for a reason (thinking aero?).

Total airflow into the engine compartment is a concern as is adequate cooling. I believe the larger, regular GT350 opening/small splitter balances with the smaller R opening/large splitter.

Most likely yes, but they'll be $12,600 and $8,400 list price, respectively, to keep wankers like me from putting them on non-R cars.

Exactly. Probably wouldn't notice it - but if you install the R splitter, the "correct" related mods should be the rear wing and the restricted front plate.... It's not a horrible install *had my nose off already* but not sure I'd do it just for that...unless the nose was off already.

Everyone knows the cams are different. The R also has the "red" key standard. That's why there will not be a race key option like on the Boss.

Actually, there is a secret engine line where the motor's labeled "R" are pulled aside into a spray room and sprayed with a liberal amount of Pixie Dust. Non-R's don't get this Pixie dust, and it shows.

You can even tell when in reverse.
I don't think this is CARB legal is it? Or is this just for cars sold outside of Cali?

It's killing me waiting for my body guy to finish my decklid. I hope to have it on Monday so that I can finally add my C2C R wing for good. With an R splitter in place the next project may entail canards something along the lines of what Multimatic does, maybe with my own twist. But you're right, there is definitely a balance there and having everything in place is the right way to go about it.

There is a track key option in the computer modules. It can be accessed via FORscan But does nothing......

The R models have a bored-out cigar light socket.

I called my insider at Ford Performance ... he promised 6 weeks, but it will void your warranty :ford:

Most likely Aero; another thought is an R, in spirit, isn't supposed to have a condenser. But that would mean the R w/Elec. should have the Non-R restrictor plate, which I don't believe is the case.
I bougt a "spirit" R ; ) The "spirit" R oil preassure without the additional accessories is lower than that on my track pack. Additionally my base R is definitely quicker and lighter on its feet. The difference is measurable and felt by the butt dyno. So I definitely think its becuase of the pixie dust lololololo

Your noted oil pressure reduction (in your "spirit" R - hey, I'll take credit for coining a new term!) is most likely due to differences in tolerances and clearances within the engine components which are part of the oil flow circuit. I don't think the external accessories should have an impact on oil pressure. Pixie dust, on the other hand, has been known to cause amazing things to happen...so says my 8 year old daughter...
