For those of you who did your OPG and TG on your 2015-2016 GT yourselves. How bad was the install? Did you use the install how to over on svt performance? Was it all the same? Would you recommend someone do it themselves or not? Thanks in advance.

Starting mine tomorrow. Will advise. I will use the SVTP guide. I also posted the Ford procedure PDF in the DIY section. There are also a couple of other threads to use as reference. I intend to combine all those sources.

Don't think there have been many/any stock or with bolt ons. F/I has seen multiple failures. Lot of threads on it.
i did a quick search and found a few threads. makes sense now. too bad oem's don't build rock solid motors. there's always something they cheap out on.

Lol yea, I believe that may have been mentioned a time or two in most of those threads as well.

They built it within the specifications required. Adding power adders and changing rev limiters will raise the possibility of failure in any motor.

I just ordered the MMR combo from beefcake on Thursday, so I'll be doing mine soon also. I've seen professional shops quote a full day for the install, which I think translates to about 3 days for me :) This is one of those jobs that I do NOT want to rush.

I paid for it and kind of wish I did it myself for the knowledge. It looks like 2 nights of tear down and reinstall.

Took two slow days for me. The OPG inside bolt was an absolute bitch. Hardest bolt ever in my 20 years of working on cars.

Cheap out on? These motors do kind of fantastic under just a tiny bit of boost.
12lbs and im at 700whp.
Kind of a weird part to break first, yeah. But you're basically doubling the power output with minimal effort. And as long as I don't overspin the engine, my motor should be perfectly fine at this power level

You're right... I just get annoyed at plastic gears for anything. I've ran into too many problems with things engineered with plastic instead of metal like it should have been.

Well, these gears are powder forged...I think the consensus is that they are a little too brittle for the added harmonics of F/I.
