Some of these I have already reviewed earlier in the thread (Radiance and Nano Magic), the focus here will be on soaps with "protection" in them. I typically don't use these products, so I'm wondering if there is a soap here that could change that.

Good stuff, I have used and keep 2 of those on hand (Hydr02 and Bathe+) and they are just "OK" as a soap, don't really suds up much but the protection is pretty nice for a couple weeks. I typically use them as a last stage foam on with a canon and rinse off rather than an actual contact soap.

Same, I use hydro 2 on the wife’s van after doing a wash with Lift.

Again, I am out of touch D as I didn't even know that there are soaps with SiO2 in them. I'll be waiting for your report. Can't imagine that using one of these type soaps would be even close to the protection of a topcoat like Reload, etc.

What do the reviews of this type product say about longevity of the ceramic?

If I understood your post correctly Alex, do you foam, wash, rinse, and then foam again with the SiO2 soap followed by another rinse?

Look forward to your thoughts particularly on the Ethos Ceramic Shampoo. I use Ethos Cleanse, if the Ceramic Shampoo is anything like Cleanse, you will love it. Cleanse makes good suds and provides a lot of lubricity.

In my experience, it’s minimal. These infused soaps do provide a lot of lubricity, so your wash mitt just glides across the car. At least for the couple I’ve tried in the past, it’s kinda similar to a detail spray or quick detailer that is infused with SiO2. Will leave the paint feeling slick and maybe a little bit of protection, but whatever protection is there won’t last long.

Most of these soaps are designed to work with coatings as well, so they’re not going to leave so much protection behind that it clogs up the coating. Just my experience with a few, I haven’t tested nearly as many as our friend D will be testing.

Yes that's it 😁. Overkill but I like it. You can work it in with a mit if you like and I do if Its nice and cool. Hence my 2 foam canons lol 😳😳. Then a nice DI rinse and good to go. I do wheels and all. It's not near as durable as a spray and wipe (Reload, S0.02) but it lasts for a wash or two. I like Hydr02 so much I bought a 1 liter once I burned thru the 500mil.

As others have noted, this type of soap is basically used as a topper, albeit not as strong as the likes of Reload. They are a bit of a novelty, adding some nice gloss and slickness here and there. Think of them like a modern "wash-n-wax".

It's ALL about whatever flotes your bote, Alex. <smile> Rock on I say!

No offense to those who use this type product but hey, my mitt couldn't slide any more frictionless now and I can't see where it would benefit my situation but if someone likes it, that's all that matters. Heck, I get grief from people who tell me I'm crazy for foaming, rinsing, washing, rinsing, and DI rinsing so I'm no person to talk. <smile>

Well, just to rub it in a little I use DI water in every step 😛🤣

Exactly. I did this this morning. Washed my daily driver :). Gyeon foam in the first canon. Then washed the paint with Gyeon Bathe in the bucket. Then foamed on Bathe+, took a clean mit and wiped it in, then rinsed down. Beads water quite nicely, the Cancoat on my daily is more than gone so the Bathe+ will give it some shine til the next wash...

OH, the Active 2.0 is the SHIT. LOVE it, works phenomenally well. Very quiet, lots of flow and MUCH smoother than the Karcher Cube I used before. Put the 1.25 orfices back in my canons and they make tons of foam still... However my current low flow DI rig wont keep up, so I just used the quick disconnect system and hooked to my regular garden hose and flooded the car after the fact. A minor inconvenience but works for now til my pocketbook can recover :)

Could you not run the pump with the nozzle removed from your gun or wand to flood the car with? That would save getting another hose out and connecting it up. You remove pressure from the equation, or would it still flow too much?

I too am curious, Alex. When you said it won't keep up, I presume you meant that the volume of water was too low to rinse? If so, I had the same thought as Deyon. I do almost the same thing with the DIC-20 by reducing the pressure on the pw down to 600psi. I do that to maximize the life of the resin and 600psi is just enough to push the previous non-DI rinse off the paint.

Regarding the A2.0, thanks a bunch for the info, just what I needed to read but I have a question. When you said it is smoother than the previous Karcher, were you referring to the way the pw acts/sounds when you pull the trigger or was it something else?

I'm definitely going to pick one up now, thanks Alex.

As part of my buying splurge, I got a water flow meter and hooked into the supply line and when the filter is on, it has a flow reducer to preserve the resin and it throttles it automatically at 1.2 GPM, and the water flow meter confirms this. This was not a problem for my Karcher as it's output was only 1.2 GPM, but the Active is 2.0 so when I switch to the filter, the pump labors and starves for water. I don't want to burn up the pump for sure. My gas PW did the same thing, I only tried once with it to use the filter and gave up.

Yes, see above regarding the flow. The DI rig I have has a reducer that throttles the flow to preserve resin (1.2 GPM) and I don't know of any way to throttle the Active to slow it down, it doesn't do that like the Kranzle, I guess thats an option reserved for the big dogs :) . Makes the pump starve for water :frown: . As for the 2.0 itself, yes it is very smooth, The motor is very quiet and the hum is not as harsh as the el cheapo PW I used before. Also when you pull the trigger, the flow starts faster and smoother. Some of that may be the fact that I bought a nicer more robust hose to use with the Active. The ONLY thing I dislike about the active is the fact that its so small and the legs are very close together so when its sitting on the ground and turns on and off it tips over its kinda top heavy LOL.. I may rethink my setup, I am still going to either mount to the shelf on the wall to alleviate that, or mount to the bottom shelf of my cart.. I found me hose reel that is reasonable and have a shopping cart list of the fittings I need to hook it all up :)
