Who in their right mind would think a MY17 would be not as good as a MY16?
The MY17's IMO would be a better car than the MY16's as far as refinement and possibly more options.
I think that's what he said. If you re-read his post I think you'll see...

There isn't much history with any manufacture making changes to a second model your call short of safety or failed parts. If the are fixing the panel issues it will be before a single car leaves the plant.

Of course those are preproduction models, what does that have to do with shipping being coincidental? You think they would pass on the chance for all those laps and reviews to find final items that needs to be addressed in QC??
The timing for shipping the 2015s has nothing to do with the Track Tours. And there is no way a manufacturer would use a handful of public events with preproduction vehicles to debug its upcoming production models. That work is done, and the accumulated mileage of the 15 vehicles assigned to the Track Tours is miniscule compared to the test miles all the other prototypes and preproduction GT 350s have run.

I suspect that the problem (if there really is a problem) is either an issue with a bad part from a supplier or an issue with final certification.

Happens. I can tell you 100% that 95 mustangs improved their panel gap from 94...first two years for SN cars.

I absolutely think that small tweaks will happen for MY17 vehicles. My plan was to wait for one. However, I started to become concerned that getting a '17 at MSRP could still be a challenge and I feared a $2-4k price increase. Thus, I jumped on a '16 allocation offered to me this past weekend. I don't want any 'early adapter regrets' but I decided to take the gamble to guarantee one of these makes it to my garage.

I don't know about anybody else, but it's starting to get a little depressing waiting for word. I really don't mind waiting for the car, but give me a reasonably accurate idea how long this wait is going to be.

Come on Ford, give us a sense!

I went through this when I got the first 2006 C6 Z06 in Kansas City. A production problem with half shafts and power steering pumps caused the first hundred or so vehicles to be re-routed to Rousch Engineering for the required fixes. My car was probably 7-8 weeks late getting here. When there is a problem discovered, they stop production and they can't run the previously built cars through the assembly line again. Its a shipping nightmare too.

I'd be pretty pissed if I had a 2015 allocation. At this rate you might get it a week or two before a 2016 owner. Unless you plan keeping it for 30 years it being the first year isn't going to mean crap in terms of resale value.

Ford's communication process during the S550 era has been really poor.

It's alright... mine will still be a 50th anniv limited edition and in a rare company of 137 total.
