I have an axleback exhaust on my GT Vert and it had a deep tone, but wasn't really loud. Based on recommendations and reviews, I added a H pipe and it is now louder and the sound is great, but it has a drone now that is deafening at cruising RPM's. So now I have to change something. Contemplating welding the stock resonator back in. Any other suggestions to get the deep muscle car tone but still enjoyable when just cruising around?

I have the Ford Performance Touring cat-back exhaust. The sound is deep and resonant, but I doubt it's any louder than stock. For me, this is fine and what I wanted. It comes with a resonator that I suppose could be replaced with a H/X pipe for more volume.

I may be wrong, but I believe the H pipe is what caused my issues. I didn't have any drone with just the axle back, but I sure do now.

I changed my stock suitcase muffler out with a magnaflow resonated x pipe, and replaced my rear catback mufflers with flow master flow-fx mufflers. I also have stainless works long tubes. The car has. throaty, deep tone that’s not raspy even when pulling up to 7-8k rpm.

That is what I am thinking, instead of the stock resonator, put a better one in.

Put a pair of 18" glass packs behind the H - takes the top off rasp, got rid of all the drone I had, and deepens the tone. It might be slightly quieter, but not by much and IMO the tone gain will be worth the db loss

I am running Borla S type with catted LTH and two Corsa pro resonators on mine. I think that’s the perfect combo. I used to have Borla resonator but it is too quiet even with headers. Now my volume is a bit higher than catback systems. But absolutely zero raspy and drone. Love the deep tone.

Magnaflow 2 into 2 for the resonator then sumitt welded turbo mufflers. Nice mellow until you gas it.

I just wanted something a little louder but I hate the raspy sound you hear from some coyote motors. I went with the Flowmasters American Thunder axle back set up. Perfect……..deep tone, not too loud and not raspy.

I have the Borla S-Type on my GT with stock headers. I absolutely LOVE IT! Nice tone at idle, no drone at any RPM and almost stock sound inside the car at cruising speeds. I love how quickly it comes to life as soon as you add any throttle. The tone and echo running at WOT about 2 feet from the wall on the front straight at PIR is absolutely erotic!

I have the Borla S-type cat back system. Pretty tame when cruising and thunderous when you punch it. Absolutely no drone. The system comes with an X-pipe.
