Normally I would agree with you but it comes down to how many GT500’s get made and how resale holds up. Nobody really knows. But if it’s like the GT350 resale and production numbers, then yeah the painted stripes are not going to make the car that much more vs a car with vinyl.
Agreed we have plenty historical data to say the most likely the resale won't hold in the short term.

Good for you. Of course it’s easy for me to say as it’s not my $28k. But as Tomster said this is possibly a once in a lifetime opportunity. Let’s just cross our fingers and hope the dealer doesn’t back out of your MSRP deal.
Everything has said the gt500 will be no rarer than the gt350. I think the gt500 is a great car but unlikely the 100k+ mustang market will have enough buyers to keep the demand high for long.

28k is a lot to toss on stuff you don't want.

I wanted the painted stripes, but due to allocation shananigans I couldn’t get them. I didn’t want them because of the breaks in the vinyl, I just wanted them flush with the paint for Xpel purposes. I would at bare minimum get the painted stripes. I personally did not want the CFTP anyway, but I wish I had the option.

I ended up doing a complete Xpel wrap over the stripes, so at least they are nicely protected going forward.

I disagree. 100k is a performance bargain for what this car (GT500 CFTP) can do. It came right out of the mouth of the guy who was the development driver for the Ford GT, GT350, GT500, etc that the CFTP will be expodentially better than the GT350R (as he was doing things to my car on the track that I didn't think was possible).

Maybe you are not going to woo a budget minded buyer like the 5 liter GT crowd, but as we have seen in the past from high end car buyers, you will see a lot of people crossing over for a lot of performance at a very good price.

I agree the gt500 is a performance bargain.

Where I disagree is there are a lot of buyers in the 100k to 115k bargain market. The initial gt350r was 62 to 68k.

If they make gt500 in gt350 numbers the value (imho) will not hold.

Nothing ive read said the gt500 is exceptionally better it just has a ton more power.

I had much rather have the CFTP than the stripes if that's the choice. I'm not a stripe guy either so there's that. I'd probably back out of a deal if they were forcing stripes on me.

If it is a CFTP car at msrp, I think you'll be the first one of those I've seen...congrats!

That was the ending of the movie I didnt get to see..... general magic. Incredible how far ahead of the curve that group of people were.

Anyway, stateside again, I'm just a transcon away from my own bed.

Flying the same aircraft we brought in from Sydney Australia. These suites sure do make it a lot more comfortable.

A few more miles to go before I sleep.....

Yeah it's at MSRP. I think I have realized the deal I have in front of me. I was kinda pissed that I have been waiting since July and at the last moment they want to change things. Plus 28k more is nothing to sneeze at. I will most likely take the deal.

Ask the initial GT350/R folks who paid huge ADMS for the privilege of being early owners. They are likely extremely upside down in their investment. Wait 6 months and the Base prices will fall below MSRP and a year or two for the CF package. That's when the real market begins
