Dealer called and said I have to order painted stripes...

So, I just got a call from my dealer stating that my car had to have the painted stripes. (I have a base ordered) Otherwise I have to wait for their 3rd allocation. As I was typing this he called me back again. Stating that they had a "golden ticket" and more came with that. I tried to explain that the golden ticket allowed you to purchase the carbon fiber track pack with or without the painted stripes. He was "unaware" of what it came with. Basically they are trying to force me to buy the "golden ticket".

Step 1, call back dealer.

Step 2, tell him you want the carbon fiber track pack option and the painted on stripes.

Solved. A CFTP at MSRP is unheard of. You'd be a fool not to grab it while you can.

I think painted stripes are the exact kind of option that will not hold its value. Not in the short term (<10 years)

Normally I would agree with you but it comes down to how many GT500’s get made and how resale holds up. Nobody really knows. But if it’s like the GT350 resale and production numbers,then yeah the painted stripes are not going to make the car that much more vs a car with vinyl.

Im a POOR, and cftp + painted stripes was too expensive (in addition to allocation issues); If a iconicsilver black roof black stripe cftp comes up for sale in the next 5 years at $85k,,im jumping on it

Yeah it's at MSRP. I think I have realized the deal I have in front of me. I was kinda pissed that I have been waiting since July and at the last moment they want to change things. Plus 28k more is nothing to sneeze at. I will most likely take the deal.

Good for you. Of course it’s easy for me to say as it’s not my $28k. But as Tomster said this is possibly a once in a lifetime opportunity. Let’s just cross our fingers and hope the dealer doesn’t back out of your MSRP deal.

Man, painted stripes will look great! The vinyl on my 2016 gt350 looked like crap.
