Well it's done. I went back and forth and decided that having a "golden ticket" car handed to me at MSRP was worth it. It's a little different, but this is what I ordered.

I think either color stripe looks good on IS, Tom but I'm not a fan of a black roof, (living in the near tropics.)

But man, I gotta tell ya, those painted stripes are the cat's behind. I'm SO glad I spent the dough on them.

Black stripes look great on this car, but the white stripes is something to see honestly. Black stripes are meaner, more aggressive. Whites are breathtaking and classy looking. Love them both, but white on silver has a slight edge for me. I also agree with KB on the roof. If getting stripes I like all stripes, if no stripes at all, I like the black roof.

I agree, but I'm just pointing out that the roof clashes with the stripes. As you said, if going with painted on stripes, I'd want them to match the black roof or not have a black roof at all.

We all know that it is individual preference and at the end of the day as long as that choice makes the buyer happy, then all is good. Who knows, maybe trying for a 1 of 1?

Usually when you want something different, the dealer wants a significant non refundable deposit. Did they hit you up with that?

I did put down a deposit, but its refundable and that was back in May. I have bought a number of cars from this dealer and they know I'm good for it.

yea its their way of keeping the MSRP deal - dealer wants/needs more $$$ but knows they are almost over the finish line so its their way of 'meeting in the middle' aka "one more pocket grab" now that the media/gotta have the latest thing frenzy is in full force... Ford knows how to placate their dealers

if the customer ain't gonna fork over the $10-20k for nothing how about for some painted on stripes ?

You may very well be correct. BUT, the truth is that many base cars are going for near 100K. Why not pay a little more for a fully loaded CFTP painted stripes and all. Plus I didn't have to take the deal. I could have waited for the next allocation and got a base. I felt that getting a much more rare CFTP at MSRP was a better deal than a base at MSRP. I don't think anyone would argue that.

Very nice. The artist in me says it needs 1/4" or 3/8" of contrast pinstripe. Red, blue, Ruby, maybe green. But still fetching as depicted.
