What are your deal breakers that would stop you from buying a 2015 mustang?

Some people in the other thread said added weight is one. I agree.

Mine:

- heavier by even a pound
- bigger (length, height, overall bulk)
- no manual option
- no IRS
- no V8
- over 34K MSRP for V8
- no HP gains

I got high expectations for the 15 and I still love my current one. If Ford doesn't deliver it'll be easy to keep my car or consider a 14. I hope they realize that.

I've been readying myself for a slimmer, lighter and sleeker mustang so I would agree any weight or size increases are a deal breaker.

Actually I will go one step further.... if it doesn't lose any size or weight I will not buy it. I'm banking on those changes to make a big difference in performance and I don't think a mild HP bump will do it for me.

Mine would be:
- If it doesn't lose weight
- If it has mail slot windows and visibility like the Camaro
- Big price increase

At this point, I won't speculate about what would keep me from wanting one based on design but if the rumors are true that the GT base price is going up $5000 that would be a dealbreaker for me.

If that's true.. I'll be getting a 2014

Fusion/Taurus styling is anything but "goofy" but point taken, no Fusion knock-offs.

I'd have to agree weight gain is the big one. However, even if they used loads of carbon fiber and aluminum, I want to see overall footprint reduced. The Mustang has gotten too visually bulky. It's time to return to its roots.

From what I've seen and heard so far? There will be no deal breakers for me!

Seriously, compared to my '05 and even my BMW 330i, S550 is likely to blow them both out of the water. Price is probably the only thing that would stop me.

Every car has a compromise somewhere, but I love Mustangs that much I can overlook them.

TT: even gaining weight and size wouldn't sway you?

That would be my single deal breaker I think and that weight thread worries me a little... well besides a crazy increase in price but that's unlikely.

Not unless it became so big it wouldn't fit in my garage........and even then I'd probably just extend the garage ;)

I'd be VERY surprised if it was bigger........I'm expecting maybe a inch or two smaller.

Weight? I've never considered the S197 fat...........inefficient, yes, but I expect S550 to rectify that.

:)

I'd have to say it would be a deal breaker for me if they didn't offer any upgrade packages with the v4t engine. Looking at getting a performance package, but not a v8 this time around, mainly for the practicality and weight savings.

I think design will be a deal breaker for many based on what I have read. Altho many do tend to overreact at first and warm up to it later. However, you combine non-traditional styling with more weight or size and they will get crushed. IMO it is an either-or choice. It's like the Fox - it lacked the design that many wanted but its size and weight made for great performance that made it the legend it is still today.

In other words, modern design without modern size/weight/performance is the deal breaker IMO.

The smaller size and expected big price jump did it for me. Also, the expected Evos styling was a turn off. More modern features such as pushbutton start and improved entertainment and interior upgrades would be nice as well as the IRS, but not worth the sacrifice to me. IMO, the 14 will be the high water mark for some time to come.
