that pic shows connector bottom left corner.
it has a pretty stout locking bar that comes down to lock - up to unlock.
That is what I separated, cleaned and replugged.
My car was not exposed to rain though.
it could also be connections at tranny down below but it sounds like a bad connection. Or let’s hope that’s all.

I think you're looking at the wrong connector. The tranny connector is literally under the strut tower brace and has the white locking lever in the top center of the picture. To the side and below the JLT catchcan.

It won’t hurt to do both as long as your careful. But you need to be careful and not force them or you may push out a pin.
