that and not all tailgaters are being assholes. I had a guy in a truck tailgating me. He pulled up beside me and told me he was just wanting to enjoy my exhaust. happened again 2 days ago. I was on a 3 lane interstate, in the middle lane, and with no one around us. 2 young dudes in a big Ford truck were right on my ass. No doubt they were doing the same. I could see them talking about it and motioning. When y girlfriend follow behind me she does the same thing. drives me nuts but I'd probably do the same thing.Something I alluded to earlier is that the OP never said what "tailgating" means to him. Basically to me the connotation is that someone was following closer than HE would have preferred.
Many self-righteous people in this thread may be tailgating every single day by this definition, because the person you are behind definitely has a different standard for tailgating than you do. And that is the assumption I started with when I posted in this thread. Whether or not I personally think I'm following too closely, the person in front of me might think I'm too close.
