I have a list of what I'm getting, it's in Etis. Lots of references to trim in that
Yes, I've seen my list. A brief descriptions of items that no-one understands. What is (if I remember the list correctly) 'level 2 door trim' for example? .... and it would have been nice to know what we were getting BEFORE the cars were actually built!

Wanting a 'fancy' interior is not really the point. I'm not expecting some super-fancy bespoke interior for UK cars, but it would be nice to think that we were getting close to the best interior available given the complete lack of choice that we get for the car as a whole - this is stuff that Ford is installing in other Mustangs remember, so it's not wanting anything more 'fancy' than interiors they already make.

But as usual, Ford have drip-fed us via rumour and internet hearsay yet another small reduction in what we're getting for our money - and as usual people will say 'oh, it's only 5bhp' or 'oh well, the strut brace is no big deal' etc etc.

I suppose you could say it's very clever of Ford; no official spec, keep chipping bits off slowly and no-one will create too much fuss. If they'd announced a huge reduction in spec all in one go then they probably would've had a few cancelled orders.

I'm not speaking for myself here, but a great many early customers are buying this car because it's been life-long passion to own a Mustang. It's such a shame Ford are not matching that passion by doing something (for the first few customers/UCL winners, at least) from the heart, rather than repaying a great deal of faith and loyalty with a series of seemingly dispassionate, detached and clinical decisions - but I guess to them it's just a business, so why should they? .....
By the time we get our cars it will just be an empty shell with the steering wheel on the right hand side

What are you saying about the gauges and strut brace? are you saying uk cars wont have this, I hope your joking right?? if true we are getting shafted big style, I knew about bonnet vents but not these it does not mention that they are missing online?

these are the only differences I can find http://www.kentmustang.com/index.php?cID=195
But this isn't news, none of the export markets are getting any of this...

We get the 'Performance Pack' functional bits but not the cosmetic bits, so no DRLs, no hood scoops, no strut brace, no extra gauges, no alloy patina dashboard... I mean this has been known since at least April...

I'm pretty confused by this interior business. Is there 3 different interiors?

My window sticker says Mustang GT premium. Is premium what we are all getting and custom is something else or are we all getting the base interior and the custom is the premium interior.

It really is frankly a very badly organised piss up in a brewery. Just gets shittier all the time.

UK right hand drive cars have already been built. How hard can it be to get a list of exactly what we are getting.

My heart has ruled my head in this buying decision but my heart is rapidly getting broken.

Ford!!!!! Why has the original premise of the PP for UK markets been steadily watered down.??
I really do feel your disappointment croyde

I went in to my Ford dealer straight away once UK pricing was announced ( January I think it was ) with my cheque book all ready to leave a deposit. Now I must give my guy at the dealership full credit - he was totally straight with me about it all from the off and made it clear about unknown final specification, delivery times etc. Basically he gave me a total heads up that it would most likely be 12 months of hassle and he would rather I waited until late in the year when we could have a proper discussion and sort my order out.

I was still keen but in the end it was my indecision over colour choice which stopped me from continuing with an early order. Now my dealer should have 2 demo cars by November so the deal was for me to check them out properly, make final decision on colour choice and get order through with the hope of a delivery not too late in 2016.

Having since watched the potential spec be continually stripped and stripped over the last 9 months had been just so so disappointing. No way will they be anything near to Performance Pack spec.

I was going with Custom Pack and the last thing keeping the dream alive for me was seeing the better spec Euro cars arriving with the nicer leather, the white stitching on dash top, the softer trim on the doors etc. Now it's looking possible that our UK Custom Pack cars won't be having this, just crap cheap plastic on the doors, crap fake black stitching moulded into the dash top and crap cheap looking coarse grain vinyl trim for the seating. It's going to have nothing but Brembo brakes - and that's if they don't take them away as well.

I'm just hoping and hoping that we still get that better interior in the UK. I so wanted this car but now I'm just about done with it.

Except that no one in mainland Europe who didn't take the custom pack is describing their interiors as crap...

Always wanted a Mustang...getting a Mustang...

I think you will be disappointed...I feel a little bit bad for you guys that ordered the custom pack and (probably) wont be getting the nicer interior. It does make sense now that I think about it. Ford have cut cost where possible and although EU cars have the upgraded interiors, it's probably because they have that configuration of materials available as per the US cars, RHD is a different story - why make 2 versions of the interior when you can just make one?

Obviously I'm not disappointed because I always knew I would be getting basic trim but this to me seems like the biggest kick in the balls so far...

I echo SteveS statement though, at the end of the day we are getting that RHD Mustang we have always dreamed of, it's certainly the case for me anyway. It comes with a few disappointments but it's not going to spoil the experience for me...

And I doubt any of us will when we get the car either. We aren't going spend 30K+ and let ourselves feel any kind of disappointment if we can help it. I'm going to rationalise the hell out of the purchase and apply wilful ignorance to the negatives. I'm also not going to take kindly to any criticism from non-mustang owners either.

Before it arrives though, it’s our chance have a good old moan. The 'customer service per amount spent' has got to be a record low, so no harm in venting. And this forum is pretty much the only place we can do this. Other people just won’t get why anyone would put a deposit down on a 30K+ Ford they’ve never seen, then spend every day until it arrives complaining about how crap it is. All whilst at the same time, being really excited.

I’m not sure I could even explain why I obsessively check the forum every day for the latest news on what type of stitching we are getting, how firm the arm rest is and how the number plate will be attached. If only I put this much effort and attention into the rest of my life!

Fair enough maybe its not 'that' bad but its probably just my overall disappointment and frustration now showing through. If the UK cars show up having the 'better' interior fitted I will be dropping ÂŁ35k+ on a new UK Mustang. If they come through with the 'cheaper' interior I will not be buying one. In isolation yes it does sound trivial but its the last straw in what now feels like a long a journey. Like many others I've been obsessively looking at numerous forums often several times a day for any new information however small, plus I've taken the time and effort to travel to visit sometimes obstructive dealerships to get a look at one.

Always wanted a Mustang...owned lots of them...

Always wanted an official UK RHD Mustang...is it worth the hassle?...

I really hate being the devil's advocate, but... honestly...

Is it such a hassle?

I ordered my car, and it's on the way to me. It's not like I have to make it myself. There really isn't a hassle is there? It's just us who are control freaks and want to know every little detail, when, what ship is it on, what shocks does it have, what kind of plastic is on the interior... Honestly, you order your car, and a while later it shows up.

It might be an uninformative experience but it's really not a hassle is it... Just chill and the car will arrive eventually. We're the ones making it into a hassle by over-reading forums and being over-curious about it.

If we are this bad now, imagine what we will be like when they arrive and we have to contend with panel fit issues, main dealers, etc. Not to mention everyday issues like parking, pot-holes and stone chips.

Apparently they have realised the V8 engine block sits too low in the car for UK roads and have replaced it with a 1.2 four pot... Now that would annoy me. Trim I can live with.

In an ideal world, prior to ordering our cars we would have seen a Mustang prepared for the UK market, we would have all got to look at it and would have placed our orders and all been very happy. Just all seems to be the wrong way around. A bit like the steering wheel.

Well to be honest we're a little to blame for that, there was nothing stopping us waiting a year until we could test drive it and everything was ironed out ;) Early adopter problems are always like this. You're basically buying a product that isn't yet finalized from a company which doesn't yet really know what it's doing. It's part of the experience when you're the first to order something :)

Not entirely true though, is it?

There are RHD cars not only built, but on the boat right now, and yet we STILL have not gotten official confirmation on the specs.

There's literally NO excuse for that.
