A few weeks ago I was pulling my car into the garage after washing it and the combination of wet shoes and the rubber pad on the clutch petal caused my foot to slip off the clutch

Luckily enough the car stalled as I slammed the brakes but it could have been worse.

Warning- this is where function is more important than form so beware all purists !! I used a couple of small (1 inch wide) pieces of the grippy tape stuff you put on steps for traction For one dollar I fixed the issue and it’s actually much nicer to drive in stop and go traffic

You just cut a piece at the appropriate width and attach it over the rubber places on the pedal- this works great.

Just a suggestion with pictures

A lot of racecars use grip tape on the clutch and brake pedal.

I drilled and tapped for one 8-32 button head screw on the brake and clutch pedal.

Drilled and tapped the gas pedal for one 8-32 screw and made a Delrin button insert for a second screw.

Tapped the dead pedal for three 8-32 screws.

I think those pedals are $120+ for the set, which is why I never bought them. Don't feel inferior, your wallet thanks you.
I was going to make a wise-crack about using the savings to buy oil !!

I had wondered if the wide base plate would work in our cars but went with the smaller version. Do you find that the grid pattern chews up the heels of your shoes while driving?
