Cup holders and handbrake - RHD

There has gotta be RHD cars out there. Aren't all cars tested for millions of miles before being let loose on the public?

If the first RHDs are being built in September, it looks like Ford are using us as the test mules.

Here is the advice I got - don't shoot the messenger.

Really its not a change, all we are asking for is it to be the way it was on previous mustangs! Another disappointing point, however this one can't be altered.

Not questioning yourself MotorFF, but has Ford Service always been correct in what they have said? Because how would this picture make sense?

It really isn't impressive, I thought there are pictures to show that the mirroring has occurred? Honestly I think Ford Aus is in the dark about this, I will waiting until everything is confirmed. It does seem that bit by bit we are losing what we thought we would have.

There is a fair price difference between the M4 and the Mustang

I ordered a mustang for the love of the car. The price was kind of less important. I just can't believe ford would do something that silly. People will actually not buy the car for this reason alone. If you are going to go to the expense of creating a global car in left and right hand drive then why do a 95% job

I hope this isnt true and fordaus have just made a mistake but if it is ill more the likely cancel and just get the 300 srt when it releases, i could handle the other changes but not a half arsed interior

Good point. But why convert a car, move the whole steering assembly and not move the damn hand brake! Just seems idiotic. Oh well probably a troll post to annoy ppl like me

But yes if the don't move it I will be seriously reconsidering my order and I expect I won't be alone. I can put up with the drl the stupid fake fuel cap, lack of options, reduced pp but the hand brake might be a deal breaker

I currently have a Jeep Cherokee as my daily. Everything is the same as the US so currently my cupholders, handbrake etc all matches what I would get in the mustang so for me I am not too fussed but in eventuality I think its probably correct. Saves having to move everything over.

I'll put my money on that it stays as is.

My srt has everything converted. Dont the cherokee have the cupholders in the centre?

All of these let downs are really disappointing.

I understand that there are things like the DRLs and tail lights that didn't justify Ford spending the money to tailor to our market, but stuff like this shows contempt for RHD buyers - especially given how much they talked about moving the cup holders to allow unrestricted access for changing gears.

Realistically it probably isn't enough to make me cancel my order, but it really has pissed me off. I'm going to message Ford Australia and express dissatisfaction in this.

Isn't the issue that when mustang gets RHD that the cupholders are going to be closest to your left leg and handbrake on the passenger side i.e leaning over cupholders to pull up handbrake?

I thought that was the issue which is what the KK Cherokees add not sure if the new KL ones have been updated or am I missing what the cupholder debacle is?

Right for the manuals changing gears is going to be an issue. Right the Cherokees were automatic. I've ordered Auto mustang I'm out of the manual loop!

The new grand cCherokees have the cups changed and the new cherokee has centre cups back further so no issue. Im getting auto as well but its still crappy

Yeah, clearly I just posted this just to annoy you, since you are so damn important.

Back on topic - I off course hope Ford Aust is simply clueless, but since they already have at least two cars in the country and would be dealing with USA team regularly I'd be very surprised if they'd stuff this response so badly. It actually took them a few days to respond after they initially acknowledged my query - i can only presume they were actually asking people in the know.
Let's wait and see.

Does anyone know of any other originally LHD cars that for the RHD market didn't convert the centre console?
