The recent photo of a yellow ecoboost driving in Melbourne with traders plates clearly shows reverse park sensors. I think maybe you should start practicing those back flips:clap2:
*gulp*

Not looking promising is it!

This is one occasion where I am extremely happy to be proven wrong.

Can we just back-up for a bit (no pun intended).
Somewhere in all of this I read that the Shaker system isn't standard on RHD vehicles.
Without a brochure sitting under my nose, do we get the Shaker sound as standard fitment or not? Every car I've seen (at the dealers) has it fitted, or at least has the badge to suggest that it is.

And yeah, they can keep that body kit well away from my car. Hell, I'd pay money to have it removed!

My understanding is that we get the Shaker badge in the cabin, but the mid-range stereo system option of the three that are offered;

The baseline configuration employs 6.5-inch door speakers that don’t need as much travel to produce comparable audio volume, with higher-fidelity mid-range and bass sound. A pair of 6.5-inch round full-range speakers are mounted in the fastback's rear package tray or in the quarter panels of the convertible. “With a fundamentally quieter baseline to work from, we had a better acoustic environment to tune the audio systems in the new car,” said Joe Kafati, multimedia systems supervisor.

Step up to the premium nine-speaker system and you get a front center speaker mounted in the top of the instrument panel for improved vocal and speech clarity, as well as an 8+1 channel amplifier. The nine-speaker system adds a second speaker to each door, separating the low and mid-range frequencies for improved fidelity. These speakers use powerful neodymium magnet speakers that help reduce weight while improving overall sensitivity and sound reproduction.

Stepping up to the top-end Shaker Pro system that is available on the Mustang EcoBoost Premium and GT Premium brings 12 polymer cone speakers, with a pair of coaxial woofers in the rear, plus a trunk-mounted subwoofer for maximum bass response. The subwoofer has been repackaged to fit into the rear corner of the trunk, leaving more space for cargo. Even with the Shaker Pro system, golf players will be happy to find out the 2015 Mustang convertible can still accommodate two large golf bags.

Sorry for the thread diversion but this is ludicrous! I could've sworn that the brochure kindly supplied by my dealer, actually stated a nine speaker system (or something similar to that)..
I didn't see an option to tick for more or less speakers...it was implied that this was standard fitment.

Sorry if I wasn't clear.

In Australia we have no option of the audio system.

What we get is the middle option of the three that are offered in the US.

Frankly, I think we have done pretty well.

I plan to add a sub, and there are aftermarket ones that fit similarly to the Shaker one that won't eat up your space

Yeah nah, I understood what you wrote. I was more angling that the sales brochure seems to indicate otherwise. But that's just going from memory.
Then again, we DO get DRL's, as indicated in the brochure...

Hi Frostee

have you looked into wiring for the sub? Is it pretty simple to hook something up?

I haven't looked into it at all yet, but if you've got a link to a relevant post that'd be tops

Cheers

Yes, we do get DRL's, but they're not the shark gills, rather they're what most people would call fog lights

My sarcasm didn't come across in the written word maybe.

This was on the bottom of my original sales brochure from Dec 2014 (bold added be me):

"This brochure is designed to provide you with a general introduction to the Ford Products (including available optional equipment) referred to, and should be read in conjunction with the latest specification sheet. Because of changes in conditions and circumstances Ford* reserves the right, subject to all applicable laws, at any time,
at its discretion, and without notice, to discontinue or change the features, designs, materials, colours and other specifications
...
December, 2014. All-New Mustang Brochure. FRD001854."

Basically - here is a list of things you might get, but we really have no idea what you will get, so we will list just about everything, and then work out the final specs some time before your car arrives.

Hey there G Rush

My car isn't scheduled for production until Sep, so Dec delivery. I haven't had a chance to look at wiring (mind you I probably wouldn't know what to look for lol) but I am in touch with an audio installer here in Melbourne, and we are keeping in touch re options for us.

They import a lot of Kicker gear - monthly container loads. Trouble is, Kicker don't seem to offer a sub beyond 2014 Mustang so that won't work for us http://www.kicker.com/SMUS05

However they also import JL Audio at the rate of about a container every 4 months. This Stealthbox product looks the goods http://intl.jlaudio.com/car-audio-stealthbox-ford-mustang-coupe-15-up

Not sure yet how these fit with RHD Mustangs, but I'm assuming that if the handbrake and cup holders are the same, then the boot config will b the same as LHD and these will fit on our drivers side.

It's still work in progress, but I haven't found anything better to my mind than the JL, and I know I can get one if I want one in one of the containers the installer I am talking to imports.

The other questions is whether there's a bigger amp needed. I suspect possibly so. I'm guessing A$2K plus to do this.

What do you think?

Thanks for the links.

Yeh I pulled an old JL sub in a box out of my old ED falcon and i'm wondering if I can run that pretty much off the stock head unit, low powered but at least run it that way for now. Nothing too flush or intgrated, just removable if i need boot space.

I haven't looked in the audio section or done any searches yet, just curious for now, will look into it next week!

Electrics are all smokes and mirrors to me so i'll have to ask a few mates clued into this sort of thing.

Im thinking of getting an alpine slimline subwoofer Type R. ~500$
+ Custom enclosure made from fibreglass to fit snug in the corner, with matching carpets, ~400-500$.
+ Amplifier ($300 - Alpine).
+ installation etc, all up I think would cost less than 1200$ - 1300$ after discounts if done at the same place.
