I've only had my car for a week yesterday, but I don't quite think my handbrake is right. I remember reading, well before I got my car, that the handbrake was quite easy to use so I assumed you didn't have to pull it too high up or with too much effort.
With mine however, a few times, I have pulled my handbrake on and left it in gear, but when I go to start it later on and push my foot on the clutch the car starts rolling. Naturally I thought I need to pull harder on the handbrake, annoyingly hard I must say. Then today and a couple of times before, I park on a slight hill and my car is constantly creaking as if it is moving forward, or about to give way and roll away from me. In gear too by the way.
Is this normal, does my handbrake have to be tightened or something or are you meant to pull it ridiculously high to engage properly?
