Cup 2 Connect

Any experience? The connect feature is discontinued and apparently not available anymore, but the tires are. AND, it has a 240 treadware. A very preliminary bit of homework suggests better wear and better wet performance (relatively speaking of course). Thoughts? 240 is as good or better than some other tires a lot of peeps are running.

Great tire. Not worth extra money, like they used to be, but if you can get them the same or cheaper than standard cup 2’s, buy em.

What caught my attention is the 240 treadwear on a capable (and great looking) tire like this. Just repeating what I read, it has a tad more tread depth than a regular cup 2, which in whole or in part contributes to the clamed better wet performance. I don't know why the 240, but that indicates to me a little better street manners (life, drivability) away from the track.

Slightly different compound than standard or R cup 2’s. The “connect” part of the name came from there being a spot internally on the tire where a wireless transmitter would be inserted which could feed data back to you in the car through an app. Cool tech but I suspect people weren’t willing to be $100 more per tire.

They do offer a 345/30/19 which is great, but $690? ouch

Here ya go boys and girls. Decided to roll the dice on the tire, especially with the new 240 TW. Going on the roommate tonight. They do have this tire in 305/30 & 325/30 without the rim protector like mine. If I like these, I'll probably do these on the 350 next because they look amazing...

John, the pocket for the sensor is still on these even though that system is supposedly obsolete like you said. The tech in the shop (my daughter, lol) actually noticed them and everyone was like WTF. It was funny.
