CRAYON SMELL

Does anyone else’s S550 smell like crayons? I’m talking 2003 5 series crayons. Ever since I got a daily a couple years ago the S550 sits, but when I want to drive it I end up smelling like crayons. Wondering if it’s a heater core, coolant / evap, freon leak. Not sure but advice greatly appreciated

Check under the car and make sure a plastic bag did not waft up and get stuck/burn onto the exhaust…

Crayons. Yeah thats the smell. Yeah it seems kinda normal for a car about that age, and its hot in Texas.

A little mold, some old plastic, and when it comes to seat farts, its not the age.. its the mileage.

Swap the HVAC air filter maybe spray some alcohol mist into the cowl ducts with air filter off.

Should not small like anything unless it's fairly new. The brand new fords smell like old skool chemical factories there only two things they need to do to sell cars when people only get 10.min test drives and that's deliver amazing tactile surface in the interiors and make them smell good or like nothing.

Ford should have learned a few things from their disaster out foray into luxury cars, especially Volvo whose interiors used to be neutral.

I get a similar smell yes when getting into mine after it sits for a few days or so. I'm going to change the cabin filter here soon since it's 5 years old and has never been changed before.

Coolant will smell like maple syrup.

I think its the materials they use to build the car, I have replaced my filter and it made no difference. I tend to notice it more if the car has been sat for a couple of days, its almost the '' new car smell'' but less noticable.
