That's surprising. I've stalled mine at least once trying to get rolling in reverse when I forgot to take the parking brake off. It might get you a bit of mitigation on the insurance rating hit if you can credibly argue that the parking brake didn't hold the way it should have.
Yeah, I pulled up at my gates to open them the other day and pulled the hand brake on and popped the clutch out to leave it idling in neutral but it was still in first, car just stalled that's all but it wasn't on a cold start either at 1500 rpm, that might make a significant difference.

The front grille with bumper is about $1500.00, if you needed a head light? that is $1700.00. add labor your at about $6K

Headlights are fine. Did you watch the video and take into account the damage to driver side of car in your estimate? I have insurance so won’t cost me so much but my guess was above $5k

glad you are ok, always ticks me off more when I damage a car myself but crap happens. No one got hurt and that's what insurance is for. Get it fixed and enjoy it all over again.

That is terrible I am surprise the E-Brake didn't hold the car in place. I have done the same thing starting and forgetting its in gear but was saved by the E-Brake. Another reason to put your car in gear when its off. E-Brakes can fail. :p

You are ok thats all that matters! The rest is fixable with some coin and time.

I know of someone who did that when a passenger was outside with door open! No trees involved but a good reminder to all! My routine is to place in neutral before a start, the clutch has to be in and parking brake on. Sxxt happens sorry dude. Looks like an easy fix it just makes one sick.

Been there, done that many years ago. Fortunately the car stalled. Now I always make sure the car is in neutral, and indicated on the dash, before I hit the start button, and/or release the clutch. I feel your pain! hopefully it all gets fixed right...….

Got a call from body shop just now, the door they ordered from dealership came in, but it had dents and scratches in it so they requested a new one. Also, they had to order the subframe (i'm assuming just the front sub frame) because it was damaged also.

Has there been any more damage found? Has the repair estimate changed any?

I'm sure this was the first cold start of the day and the RPMs were near 1500. It looks like it was a cooler morning too so the tires might not have had the traction to grab and stall the car out.
If the tires didn't enough traction that should make it easier for the wheels to stop and easier to stall. Still surprised that it didn't stall with brakes depressed even at 1500 cold start
