Well, I decided to try something really different and went for an option I have not seen people try yet. I just installed the CP-E Icebox with a dry flow filter that I got on Father's Day weekend (Thanks @LethalPerformance for the great deal!) for my car and I have to say, it was super easy to install compared to others. The intake was packed well and in a pretty large box. The stainless steel box is well constructed, but has a couple minor gaps on the edges of it which are only a few mm wide on the back of the air box. Guess we'll see if that affects IAT's. Instructions were okay, but not super specific. The video Bill did at CJ Pony Parts was better overall for visuals.

Fitment: Excellent. It's designed to work for 2015-2019's and mine fit just fine to my 2018 manifold. You'll just have to cap off ports you don't use on your own.

Pros:
- Closed box.
- Dry filter option.
- Aluminum MAF housing, tubing, and stainless steel air box.
- 110 mm MAF tube.
- MAF curve provided by CP-E.
- Looks incredible.

Cons:
- Very small gaps in the air box.
- No sound tube delete plug.
- Have to plug a vacuum line for 2017+ models.

More to come as I am waiting on a tune revision from Lund for Flex Fuel and E85. This is a tune required intake. I really hope for a stable MAF, but I believe it will be fine.

Looks nice. I did see that the JLT for 2018 is 120mm, though I don't know if 10mm will make much of a difference. I will be interested in hearing if your IATs stay low with this.

$3.28 cent sound tube delete. Just apply a little lube! Lol.

That’s a good looking CAI!

I assume tune required?

Yes, it is. They provide the MAF curve on their site for tuners.

How much shipped? I just do not know if a “little more” top end power is worth the $$? Unless it keeps IATs around stock box (especially summer temps) temps?

It's definitely less than what's posted on their site and other vendor's site. I got a pretty good deal from @LethalPerformance when I got mine. As far as IAT's go, I just started some data logging and I did that last night when it was cooler. From what I saw in that short bit there, IAT's do not climb fast like the open box ones and it appears to be similar to stock, but I need to do a little more driving especially once the temps get closer to 100 to see how well it does.

If anything, this intake "might" yield a few extra HP up top over the stock 18 setup due to the filter and bell mouth housing. The really good news last night is I had 0 RPM dip, but that could easily be because of the tune being a 93 octane one just for logging.

The vacuum line connections look terrible. Aluminum is a bad choice for maf housings (unless it's for forced induction). I'd 100% take the stock 18 air box over this. Good luck OP

I wish there was only one plug for the intake with everything else deleted. They just kept one design to work for 15-19.

The 18 stock intake is one hell of a system. I grabbed one for $70 from a member who went FI. If something does not work out with this one, I've got that, an aFe drop-in, and the carbon trap cut out.

The stock intake is super ugly though. I will probably just end up making a plexi cover for my JLT box. Flows better, looks better, and should have similar IATs as the stock.

Update: I got my revised Flex / E85R tunes. Granted I have 93 octane in the tank, here's what I got so far from a short drive.

1. Intake temps are 3-5 degrees above ambient. The stainless steel box and aluminum MAF do not cause temps to rise fast.

2. My alch learn flag went to 1 after about 10 minutes total. I struggled with this on my last tune with the 18' JLT.

3. No stalling. I tried to replicate the issue how I did before and I had no rpm dips.

4. Smoothness. Pulls up to 7800 feel great. So far no driveability issues.

Now how much of this could have been the tune being better? Highly possible. Either way, this intake is working for me and I am liking it so far. Once I get E85 in the tank and get a few WOT pulls logged to check, my next plan is to head to the dyno.

For anyone that enjoys some data logs to look at, here are my first WOT pulls on both the Flex and E85R tunes along with my first initial datalog on 93 octane. Alch % was 79.6% when Alch_Learn_Flag went to 1. Seeing some knock as soon as I mash the pedal going WOT on both tunes. Everything else seems to be good though. Sent to Lund to check.

Powder coated grabber blue and the air box gloss black. I had to glue the badge back on. Really great job by Enigma Coatings in Leander, TX. They heat coated my headers too. They are the place to go in central Texas.

I decided to customize this one because it's the best one I have tested to date. I do have the stock 18 setup which is also great too but that little extra bit up top is nice with this one.

What’s the verdict on the IAT’s in traffic? And how’s the maf stability for flex tuning? Thanks!
