it really is neglible

the 13/14 were bad due to the design, but we've had no issues on the 15+

Steeda FTW. Hit up David@Steeda via PM and he will hook you up with great pricing!

You will not be disappointed in the quality, look and performance of their CAI.

This may sound like a stupid question. I come from driving turbo cars. I know the hoods on these cars have the heat extractors on them. Will water coming in through them have any adverse effect on the open CAI design?
Nope, no issues at all with the setup like Steeda has and open element.

I'm currently looking at intakes for my car. So far I've narrowed it down to Roush, Steeda, and BBK. Just not sure which one I want to go with. Does anyone have any experience using the BBK intake? Right now my only mod is MBRP Cat back exhaust.
Feel free to let me know if you have any questions, happy to set you up with one of our popular Steeda CAI's! They have been flying off the shelf, both the tune required and no-tune versions.

From what I've read the closed air boxes take longer to heat up, but they also take longer to cool down whereas the open air boxes heat up and cool down fast.

I can vouch for the open air boxes changing temp either way quickly. For instance sitting in a drive through for a while can net 40-50 degrees above ambient temp but once I pull out onto the highway within 30-45 seconds its back down to 4-6 degrees above ambient so long as I'm doing 55+mph.

Personally it was $350 out the window for me, having that IAT on the dash and seeing the temps OE and CAI, I think i'd be blissfully unaware that the CAI really did just about nothing for the butt dyno. If it's part of a larger build and tune, etc.., maybe it's worth it but I don't care for it, atleast not what I paid for it anyway.

The Steeda unit has high quality components compared to some others I had considered before buying the Steeda. I didn't want to do a tune right now but wanted to have the ability in the future. Initially after the install I had some questions but the folks at Steeda, as well as the members of this forum, were helpful in providing answers. I've been happy with it. I have gained 1 to 1 1/2 mpg mixed driving since putting it on. It's got a visceral howl when you get your foot into it but otherwise is as quiet as stock from in the cabin.
