What’s the verdict on the IAT’s in traffic? And how’s the maf stability for flex tuning? Thanks!
IAT's are just a little higher than stock, but not by much since it's sealed off better. Perfect for flex/E85. It's really smooth overall everywhere.

Wow that’s really awesome to hear, this seems to be the one for us searching for an intake finally. I even like that they provided the maf curve. I’m wondering how much there is to gain with this over the stock 18 intake. Btw your under the hood looks great!

If it's like any of the other cone style intakes, you'll see a slight gain in the upper rpms. Nothing drastic, but it's there. That's why most people just stick with the stock intake.

Yeah I hear you, thanks for trying this one out. Really helps us guys researching lol :)

And I’m still pretty new to these cars but do all 15-17 intakes fit 18+ cars and vise versa?

The 2018+ manifold is angled up a bit higher so you'd need to use 2018 versions of intakes to fit correctly on the 15-17's or 2018+. Some of the 15-17 model intakes do fit though with a little work at it, but there's no point if there are 2018 versions out there since they likely have a larger MAF. The stock airbox is exactly the same except the MAF outlet is larger on the 2018 version of the stock intake.

Ok thanks for clearing that up. Man pretty excited about this intake. It checks all the boxes- closed box, good IAT’s, smooth maf curve, larger diameter maf, and even looks good. Awesome find!

Also Zelek, did you powder coat it for heat resistant reasons or is that just more for looks? Looks sick either way

This one is for looks. Heat treating the pipe would have the opposite effect and keep warmer air inside longer. Makes sense for my headers. The only thing you could do is wrap the pipe from the outside which really isn't worth it since the measurements occur at the MAF.

Oh yeah that makes sense. So how much do your IAT’s climb when you’re just sitting at idle for a while? I’m wondering if this setup would be okay for the drag strip like staging and such.

Rises a little faster than stock, but not a whole lot. The box isn't fully sealed from the bottom so it pulls air from the fender too. A 2018 stock intake is best for drag racing. The CP-E is a great compromise between having an aftermarket tune only intake with a bit stock like features.

That’s cool. You ever think about trying to seal the box completely? Could make it even better if it’s a problem

Nah, it wasn't intended to. I'd butcher it trying to seal it too.

Powder coated grabber blue and the air box gloss black. I had to glue the badge back on. Really great job by Enigma Coatings in Leander, TX. They heat coated my headers too. They are the place to go in central Texas.

I decided to customize this one because it's the best one I have tested to date. I do have the stock 18 setup which is also great too but that little extra bit up top is nice with this one.

What did the powder coating cost roughly?
