Craig: FWIW, my coolant is the usual neon green. Sounds like I may have unauthorized coolant direct from the OEM. :-).
KB: What color is your inter-cooler liquid?

Dave: I find it difficult to believe that either of the Motorcraft coolants would do any harm to the engine which, are all essentially identical, right? Could there be an internal engine part that was replaced by one in a different material that could react with one or the other of the coolants? Seems unlikely.

But why the change? I don't have a clue.

Don: This is pretty funny. I did forget to check the IC reservoir the first time I looked so that's what I went for first, this time. Guess what? Orange.

THEN I looked at the bottle and had to shake my head. Orange again.

Now HOWTF my eyes and brain saw that as green is beyond me, maybe the bright fluorescents in the garage changed the color, but bottom line, 0171 got the Organic Orange coolant. :-)

Sorry for the cornfusion. :-)

Thanks KB
I was searching for examples where the two reservoirs had different coolants, which would indicate that the dealer was more likely the culprit. And if both had the same color, likely was filled that way at the plant.
So for the OP: My detective skills have been exhausted....

Eh I’m not really concerned about engine harm. Just trying to mentally reconcile the mixed messages in my owners manual vs. what’s in the car is all. If it’s a problem, Ford can pay to fix it, haha

I appreciate all of your detective skills. Time to just close up the hood and drive I think!

This is from my car, produced 02/28/2020. The tech who did the PDI on my car said that this was a new anti-freeze and is not compatible with the old green anti-freeze,.

I would like to talk to the guy or gal who decided it was a good idea to place the level markings facing the engine rather than towards the guy trying to determine the level.

Good info Earl. Hope it’s the same part number as is in the literature that came with the car since that’s what I picked up at the parts department today. Color in the bottle is exactly the same as what’s in my reservoir.

And as for the level markings, pilots have a saying. If it doesn’t make sense, an engineer must have designed it. No way someone who would actually operate the airplane (or car in this case) would have designed it that way.

I looked at my GT500 Owners Manual Supplement and it calls out for Orange. This isn't the first time I have seen the manuals not reflect the latest changes.
Strange that there is a complete lack of warning labels in the engine compartment.

That is strange re. the warning labels. My 500 supplement also calls for orange coolant. Do you have the little foldout card that came with the manuals like I do? That’s where the mixed messaging is coming for me. GT500 Supplement says orange. Foldout card dated “December 2019 first printing” says “yellow” which looks green in the car.

Thats what I have. Except mine doesn’t mention the air condition refrigerant.
They were 2 separate fold outs.
