I have a 2015 GT, engine is completely stock, 70K miles. It has lived on Mobil 1 synthetic for all of its life. I pulled the valve covers last year to change out the VVT solenoids and the engine looks absolutely immaculate inside. It doesn't get abused, so I'm think the engine should be very healthy inside. All of my previous mods are either suspension, Interior, or stereo. It does have a Bassani Cat-Back exhaust.

I've looked at the Whipple site, and see the stage 1 and stage 2 kits. It there a reason for me to not do the stage 2, when I have to live with 91 octane CA gas? I'm in Central CA valley, so it gets HOT here in the summer. I do have the discipline to not hammer it when the temps are high.

What else should I be taking into consideration here? I'm not going to race it, no drag launches, I just want a fast and drivable street car with good manners. I understand engines, so bring the tech if need be.

TIA
John

Stage 2 and you'll love it. Stage 2 comes with the bigger intercooler. 91 Octane will not be a problem if your tuner is aware of it and accounts for it. If you run the Whipple calibration, they already account for it from my understanding. The 3.85 pulley is pretty forgiving.

Stage 1 and 2 both come with the same intercooler. The larger one is a $600 upgrade. Stage 2 comes with the bigger throttle body.

I would think Whipple has CA gas figured out, because they are only about 40 miles north of my house. Plus if I have any issues, they are 40 miles north of my house.

I had the Stage 2 tuner kit with the 132mm TB and the upgraded intercooler and no injectors. I added my own ID 1050X's to the mix. I forgot that the intercooler was an upgrade because I didn't purchase it directly from Whipple. I bought it new from someone who went in a different direction. Mine came with the 3.875 pulley. On the 3.875 I was making about 12psi at sea level on 93octane.

Minor correction: Upgrade the heat exchanger. The intercooler is inside the blower.

Is e85 an option in your area?

That looks like exactly what I have been looking at. What have you been running for fuel? Does the stock boost gauge read ok?

I put 91 shell and then add Boostane bottle to each tank to get it closer to 93. The stock gauge reads but if you want really accurate one add your own gauge. I do have the gt350 oil temp and boost gauge it shows not sure it is accurate

Maybe, but it is hard to find. I would hate to be restricted to that.
Usually, when you get an e85 tune you'll buy two tunes and have a pump gas (91 or 93 octane) on hand if you can't find any e85. 95% of the time I'm filling up at the same station anyway.
