There aren't any tests out right now, but I'd be willing to bet that the CPC GT350 cams won't gain as much power as the Comp stage 3s. They are higher lift than the Comps, but the ramp rates and duration won't be as aggressive since they're modeled after a production style cam set. I thought Comp was coming out with 14mm Coyote cams for the 2015+ since the valve springs will handle them now. That would be the same lift as the GT350 while maintaining the better ramp rates and duration of the old CS3 cams.

That's what I'm getting at. I think the comp s3 cams with a decent port/polish will net better gains. But, we won't know until people start playing with them.

I've seen enough on other forums to safely say that very mild head cleanup work and the old style lower lift CS3s gain 30-40whp in the hands of the right tuner. Maybe even as much as 50whp on some combos.

On the 11-14, you didn't even technically have to limit the cam phasers to clear the old CS3s. Having full sweep VCT helped greatly minimize low end torque losses. The 2015+ has a wider adjustment phaser, plus the 14mm lift is a good bit more than the old cams. I'm not sure the VCT can maintain full sweep with those two changes.

They're claiming that it can, but we shall see. I'm going to do the entire valvetrain while I'm in there.

Do you think that lowering the engine would prevent the intake from interfering with your hood? Correct me if i'm wrong, but the inside surface of the hood that is creating the interference is higher than the stock hood because you have a cowl-style hood correct? So even if the engine was lowered, it might fit under your cowl hood but it probably would not clear the stock hood without modification right?
The stock hood will clear with no trimming when using the UPR adjustable mounts. That's what I have on mine.

What all are you planning to upgrade?

- comp s3 cams
- OPG
- Crank gear
- springs
- secondary chains
- chain guides
- port/polish on the heads and intake mani.

Eventually, I'll get a short block, and really get crazy with it.

I made 456whp on my 15 5.0 with cobra jet, long tubes and e85. Dyno conditions were terrible, a cooler day I'm sure it can make 465+ whp. So far happy with the results and ken Bjonnes tune is on the spot

Mid 450's is the goal after the intake and injectors. That, and an 11 second run with the gear banger.

Thank you! I'm using the custom made Cai PBH intake which is 4.5 and which was made for 11-14s cars . And used a JLT intake heat shield for the 15-16s..
