You do not have to drain much, just a little.
I heard of some people bending the stock one a little and it cleared.

I only remember getting the longer one, maybe the shorter one is for other years? Sometimes kits now days come with enough stuff to cover many install possibilities.

My buddies and I have just pushed on the stock coolant tube to get enough room to clear the throttle body. So we didn't have to drain coolant or swap the coolant tunes. If you decide to do that just push gently and be careful.

On page 19 of this post, I see pics of one.
There are some out there, I've seen other posts a while back. Maybe more other pages of this post or try other Cobra Jet Intake post.
Maybe start a new post like Like Cobra Jet CAI, that might get more attention, a vague title will get people to look and someone is bound respond.

Oh on the heat shield, I'm not sure. I like how our runners are separated with an air gape from each other, but I think the heat shield is worth trying, I will give it a try one day and see.

Any tips for repining the tb? I'm stuck and don't want to rip it apart. Can't get it undone

I thought I had a photo and some instructions, but I'm unable to locate them.
So the best I can remember, I used a heavy duty shipping staple from one of my many parts boxes. I straightened out and used that to push in and unlock the pins one at a time. I tried using a pick but it was too big, the flat staple worked better.
