Cobb access port + FL sun = ?

My Cobb access port from MAP arrives today. Living here in sunny Fla produces some serious interior temps. Has anybody fried their AP by leaving it in the car? The instructions say keep it under 115 degrees and if it goes on the fritz let it cool off. Is there a chance for permanent damage? I try to find shade but that can be a "hot" commodity around here.

I know a decent number of guys with Subies that leave them in the car all the time. I can't say if they ever have to cool them off...

If you're worried about it, I would suggest putting it in the glove box or center counsel when you're out of the car.....

I always recommend putting them away before locking up your car. Leaving them out makes it easy for someone to have a reason to break into your car!

Wow we're about 15 minutes away, I leave mine in the center console, no issues.

Window tint all around, yes even the front. Get 70%, can't tell it's there and it keeps your car much cooler. On really hot Florida days, I don't think my interior car temp has ever reached above 85F.

PS: If you guys ever head towards the Orlando area, give me a shout... I'd love to check out your rides, with the accessport & MAP tune.

We're based in Central Texas, so we know all about the heat! You shouldn't have issues once the AP cools off for a sec with some fresh AC on it, but its always a good idea to store electronic devices in a cool area while not in use.

I'm always down by that area, I was just there monday and tuesday! Look at the central florida meet and try to make it next time, I was the only EB there and of course everyone was curious and excited to see/hear it, first guard they saw in person too lol

Wrong one! I had the AP before I even got my car my first official meet was the Clearwater one, whenever the Lakeland or Orlando meet happen, I'll make it out there too depending on availability
