Same here with engagement towards the top... I've been driving manual shift vehicles for close to 43 years with no gap, and my 2023 Mach 1 M6 has been difficult to get used to.
I just swapped out the stock clutch spring with the Steeda spring. Can't say it's a miracle cure, but it did reduce the "push" at top of engagement that causes the embarrassing bucking.
Another thing that I've done is micro position my seating position so that clutch engagement feels more fluid. The seating position a little further out than I expected, but it works. I tried this prior to the Steeda spring and it just didn't happen.
This is not a paid advertisement for Steeda.
This is pretty much my assessment/experience as well. The steeda clutch spring improved a bit, but by no means 'fixed' the clutch. I've never had any issue with any other manual trans vehicle I've had. I thought maybe driving my e46 M3 for 17 years just had me used to 1 clutch, but I see others feel the same way.

I did the Steeda spring and it was like night and day. The clutch engagement feel was finally there. Cheap enough to try and see...

I have a clutch pedal extender on my Bullitt because I’m 5’6” tall and have some electronic timers for my clutch underneath the seat which prohibited me from moving the seat as far forward as I would have liked to without making contact with the timers. The pedal extender took care of that issue.

I also have the clutch pedal stop that @Leigh_bullitt mentioned. Here are some pics with the pedal extender and stop installed.

Note: Adjustment may vary depending on whether you clutch is factory or aftermarket.

I love my clutch pedal extender. Have been using it about 3 years now after driving without it for about 2. Will never go back, I sit so much better with it. Without it I had to sit too far up for comfort. I am 6' even.

After owning 3 GT's, a 2016, and two 19's, and now a '21 M1, there is a definite difference in clutch engagement on the M1 compared to the GTs.

With the stock GT, I did have a tough time predicting the engagement and the odd "quick springy feeling" at the end of the clutch travel. So I put in a 90lb clutch assist spring in my last GT and that was a happy medium between the stock and Steeda (which I didn't like). For stock GT guys, try out the 90lb spring. Great compromise!

For me, the engagement comes on a little bit sooner with the M1 compared to the GT. The clutch is still very easy to push in like the stock GT but it's all more predictable and feels more "normal" and what I'm used to with clutch feel.

This has been my experience with the difference clutches.

I just test drove a Mach 1 and hated the clutch feel compared to my 2013. Way too easy to push and no feel to it, hard to modulate. I"m sure to some degree i'd get used to it but I don't think 100%. Also if it has that helper spring....which I removed on day 1 in mine.

My Mach 1 engages at halfway out. I installed a clutch pedal extension and really like it. My friend drove my car and hated it. He is shorter than me so I would think he would like it but he did not.
To me the clutch feel just takes getting used to.
