these aluminum f150s have no weight over the rear. A 2.7 with a tune will break loose good tires in the rain at 50 mph, or mediocre tires at 40 mph on dry pavement. I can see the 4x4 working but are you going to drive around in 4th all the time?
Mine sometimes sits a little low, even to the point of effecting shifting upon startup, but for some reason just that first time. Lift with toe, then all ok. I think function of helper spring removal. When I test drove a Mach I though the clutch felt horrendous and way too light, but wrote it...
from my experience, all of which are non boosted, reports of exploding the tires in the first four gears are grossly overrated, particularly assuming dry pavement and warm weather.
as far as how much intervention I want, having the car feel powerful and fun is the Priority. With TC vs safety...
This transmission thing explains a lot. I would also say the car did not feel like it had 3.73, it felt taller than my 3.31. If I ordered a new 6m Iād want 3.73 or aftermarket lower yet
hopefully frpp is going to have a tune for 23 24
Something seems off there. The Mach and gt have different ratios, but 50 sounds fast for either in first, and 1st/2nd not that different tremec vs getrag. especially with 3.73 like what I drove. My existing ride goes maybe 50 -60 in 2nd with 3.31 dif. First should lite them right up from...
Yes I am comparing two MT cars. Mine has FRPP tune. As I recall that did help the low end noticeably. Not to the extent of the difference felt, though. And old girl would feel even better if I installed the same 3.73.
I just test drove a Mach 1 and was shocked at how little power it has at around 1500-3000 RPM compared to gen 1 Coyote (actually posted in a more general forum about it). I guess from what I read, was thinking the bumped compression was going to make up for the larger intake etc. I know they...
I just test drove a Mach 1 and hated the clutch feel compared to my 2013. Way too easy to push and no feel to it, hard to modulate. I"m sure to some degree i'd get used to it but I don't think 100%. Also if it has that helper spring....which I removed on day 1 in mine.
Test drove a Mach 1. Liked some aspects of the car, but a deal breaker for me was it felt really wimpy at low RPM compared to my nearly stock gen 1 Coyote. I was a bit suspicious as I had read a recent thread here on the Mach 1 describing not shifting into 6th until quite high speeds and some...
interesting post, thanks. I guess what I was getting at, for example in the setup above...insert something more restrictive...2" but just a short section. Vs, a long section of 2".
With electronics, look how thick wires are vs the solder traces on a board. But the solder traces only go a...
Not much reference to the length of the smaller exhaust or restriction. Doesnāt this matter, just like with water flow or electrical current through a conductor?
mineās olderā¦you guys have me wondering if Mach 1 engine has a lot less torque than gen 1 coyote? Mine pulls better down low than you are describing. I canāt imagine downshifting for a hill at highway speedsā¦and I have 3.31 gears, you have 3.73.
