Installed a Circle-D 4C stall converter yesterday. Took about 3.5 hours using a lift and professional tools with a helper. I don't know where some of these 45 minute to 2 hour, did it on jack stand claims are coming from that I've read online?? Anyway. Pretty straight forward install. If you've every removed a converter from an old car you can handle this. Now on to the driving impressions. Wow launch is crazy now. The car feel ERGENT when you stab the throttle. It used to feel like it was a little flat below 3000 RPMS. No more. Now dip into the throttle and your sitting at 4000 grand and climbing quick on the tack! I can see this mod cutting close to half a second off of my 1/4 mile time. Driving around town you can feel it but it's not intrusive and once you get the converter locked up you don't feel a thing. It cruises at 70 exactly the same as it did on the stock converter. I'm very impressed and cant wait to get this to the drag strip next week for a new personal best! I'd recommend this mod to anyone with a Automatic transmission.

I had a Circle D 4C on my 2011. Best mod I did and it was worth half a second for me.

A higher stall converter is a great way to wake up an automatic. I can't wait to get one in my car.

Did you have the tune adjusted to work with the converter at all? Do the drive modes seem to work the same as they did before?

No tune yet. But the guy that does the work on my 95 is looking into it for me. Driver modes all work the same.

I had a 3800 stall in another vehicle. It would be around 2000 before it started moving. For me, there is too much time spent in traffic for me to get another. Unless I get a blower...

Had a 3600 stall in my previous car along with some other goodies; but the stall was by far the single best mod. It would not be unrealistic to expect a .5 second drop in 1/4 times from a convertor alone. Being a daily driver in Houston traffic was killing me in gas though.

A converter definitely will require a tune revision.
Yea I agree. The car shifts much higher up in the RPM range now. Not that I'm apposed to that but it's very close to the 7500 RPM rev limiter I have set. I'll have the tuner set it for 7000.

Jealous! I always wanted an auto with a converter but somehow always end up buying a stick car. Your setup must be a blast!

My wife is taking it to Atco tonight to see how it does. In better air we've went 12.11@115 with intake/tune/tires. Really hoping for a healthy bump in E/T. I have to work but we were out on a back road practicing her launch earlier. So hopefully she'll have a new PB with the car.

Well the car sixtys way better but without the tune it falls on its face up top. After hearing back from my wife we ordered a Lund tune to make the most of the converter. I expect good things after the tune considering the car went from 1.79-1.85 sixtys to 1.67-1.74. Without any tuning what so ever..

I saw a 6 tenth improvement in 1/4 mile ET's with my Circle-D 4E converter (5,000 rpm stall). Best bang-for-the-buck short of forced induction! At WOT (wide open throttle), my tune locks up the converter shortly after the 1-2 upshift and stays locked up the balance of the 1/4 mile to pull harder through the traps. 60' times for my car are in the 1.59 to 1.64 range with 100% stock suspension on a drag radials.
