You need a tune when you install a converter.. call your tuner and make an appointment.. your not driving a 1970 chevelle, your driving a ecu controlled car.

The converter is not locking. You’ll need to use a lot more pedal input than before. I have a built 10r in my car and know exactly what you’re talking about.

Things you can do until you get a proper tune that will minimize this. you dont have to bully the throttle to keep the converter from doing what its suppose to do.

1) driving in normal mode Driving regularly around town. This should reduce the slip, as is it more prevalent in sport and track mode.

2) If you like sport mode or track mode over normal then you can paddle shift your gears in either mode which allows you to start off in 2nd gear after coming to a stop. This will also Greatly reduce the converter slip when driving normal around town.

The issue is brought on by the very steep 1st gear in our transmissions. And this is where tuning comes in to minumize the converter slip during normal driving.
