 I was waiting for you to chime in with the name

Hows the Lund tuning going?
Bwahahahaha.
Honestly, I would've probably gone with the BluePower unit if I thought it wouldn't cause tuning dramas for me. Obviously my preferred tuner has no direct experience with that particular unit :headbonk:
Depends which way the OP may head with his choice of tuner I suppose?

Thats pretty cool, where did he get it from at such a cheap price? I would love to try it out...
I replied to your pm but thought I would post here as well. I did a bit of research today and the K & N is closer to $100.00 or more unless the guy I met knows someone and gets a discount. They must have a decent markup as I could get one close to the $65.00 through a mate in the performance industry but it isn't something he can do as he is only a salesman there. They would still make a small margin on this so they are probably marked up 100%.

I notice Aus Mustang GT mentions numbers of 2kW for a panel filter but the guy I met did say it was throttle response that he felt improved and no mention of power improvement.

I may get one anyway and give it a try as I was planning on going to a dyno day in May and see what sort of power mine pulls. Assuming my cat back adds nothing and the panel filter also I should get 240kW or so at the wheels for my manual GT.

If you are after a no tune CAI I would go with the Bluepower kit. Local company, local support and they are showing good gains.

The only reason I wouldn't (and didn't personally) go with it is if you are planning to get a tune from the States; as Burkey said. In that case I would go with the PMAS No Tune intake (I have the PMAS Tune required) as it is one of the few showing real gains without a tune. Again as Burkey said, you do have to be weary of intake temps. Some extra work is required to keep them down.

Curious as to what's so different about this Bluepower unit that a tuner would have trouble with it?

I haven't really looked into intakes yet (I'm thinking if I decide to go further I'll just go for the complete GT350 intake set up) but aren't most the intakes the same? Big pod filter, pipe to the intake, some box off a section to help with heat. Doesn't seem to matter what brand, that's the basic approach they all take from my limited looks at them. So in that case I can't see there being much difference in tune between any of them.

The difference is the diameter of the intake tube and its effect on the MAF sensor. If you go with a "no tune" intake, you'll have no dramas. If you go with a "tune only" intake, your tuner will need to compensate for the different flow rates. Put simply, air moves slower through a bigger tube if all else is equal. The equation may or may not be linear, which is where the magic happens.

I went with Steeda for my GT. Mainly due to it being "no tune required" but it has the removable restrictor so i can go with a tune down the track. Car arrives tonight/tomorrow who i should be driving it by next weekend and will have some feedback.
My research say the Steeda ProFlow is the way to go later this year too

Just do your research with Australian cars on this one. I know of a couple of users who had this CAI for less than 3 weeks

Thanks for all the heads up guys... so who here is using a blue power CAI and is happy with it? Like i said in my earlier post, will not be tuning the car as its only got 1000km on it still. Going for a DEA cat back 3" stainless steel exhaust too.

I went with the Steeda CAI that needed a tune, I noticed a good difference in extra power, and better breathing. It has a huge tube to the IM.

Went with the airaid no tune and have been very happy so far. Noticed a slight difference and an improvement to the sound. :) will be great once I do get a tune done in a couple of months.
