I"m not sure if its a tiny bird or a mouse but when I drive bumpy roads (90% of the roads in America) there is a chirp coming from what I believe is the top well. there is no chirp when the top is up which leads me to believe that I should probably put the top partially up and start greasing the top frame joints. Anyone else experiencing this? Its annoying, because I didn't buy a 90's vette, therefore I wasn't expecting squeaks.

Probably a 10 mm socket. Deep well. Probably.

Ugh, I have exactly the same chirp. Just raising the top a tiny bit makes it stop. I’ve tried greasing or lowering it onto cloth pads in the two holders on that side and no dice.

Disheartening to hear that grease didn't work.

I fixed it!!!
If you raise your convertible top 1/4 way, you can see 2 pinch points that Ford lined with foam pads to prevent metal metal contact. One receives a tab of a metal bar, and one is in between 2 headliner bars that touch each other once folded. Those pinch points should be lined with felt pads, and the side that chirps had completely worn off felt pads, especially at the headliner pinch point. That explains why the chirp goes away as soon as you raise the top the slightest. Metal on metal is the chirp. I tested it by shoving a rag in there, lowering the top, and driving around. The chirp is gone! So check your felt pads.

Thanks for the follow up and showing us the solution.

Begs the question, what the hell was Ford thinking there? A chunk of felt?

Maybe some teflon tape instead?

Thanks all.
The sound and hopefully the solution will address what I am experiencing with a chirping noise.
