Boost Reference - Quick question

I added about 24" of hose off of the throttle body. I had to put a reducer do step it down for the vacuum block. If I had to guess, it goes from 5/8ths down to 1/2 inch. The old hose was a molded hose that had no reducer. The one I added definitely is more difficult to blow through than the molded hose. Do you think this could cause the valve to not close?

Yes... another update

THANKFULLY I datalogged at the track Friday night. Now the car has tons of knock and it's a constant 10 to 12 almost all the way through the rpm band. Now I just need to figure out the cause of the knock and go from there.

Check current plug gap, set to .020
I just finished my install yesterday and I went with what PC recommends .035??? I guess I will take it to a tuner and see if that is too much. I wonder why PC states .035 with their can tune?

My recommendation was based on d1x, 18psi and e85. Is that what Prochargers canned tune is setup for? Likely not, therefore different gap recommendations. Cmon guy.

Made 1 pass tonight and loaded er up. Same issue as before. The car obviously likes the changes I made, it's front halfing now. Brand new PBH fully built trans, 4C Circle D 4000 stall.

Issue in 3rd gear is the exact same thing as my old trans. As you know a fully built PBH trans is not cheap, needless to say I'm a little disappointed. Instead of the car shifting, once it reaches around 7200 rpms, the trans does something weird, it feels like a shift but the rpms just instantly drop like it shifts into 4th but it doesn't. Then it starts to climb again and reaches 7500 and shifts into 4th. It's like the convertor unlocks or something. The MAF shows consistent boost, lambda looks good, no knock, this things ready to rip, except it stays in 3rd for half the damn track.

Is there a trans control computer or is my ECU possibly bad? I emailed PBD and Rob replied right away but he's reviewing the log.

Are you using a transbrake? I've had a JMS launch max cause very poor mid track performance where 2nd and 3rd are used.

No on the trans brake. I'm waiting to add that until I get things sorted out. Thanks for the suggestion.

FYI, my car with d1x and 4.0 went 8.53 at 159, so you got some stuff to work out
I have Gen 3 & I’m currently on a 4.0 with a P1X. I ordered a D1X just waiting on it to arrive. What pulley do I need to keep it around 800 rwhp with the D1X? I have long tubes & fore fuel system on e85 also.

you looking to upgrade blower and make less power? You were likely over 800 on the p1x/4.0.

I’d do a 4.63 on the d1x

Well I was selling my P1x because it has helical gears. It’s just too quiet for me. So I bought a d1x with straight cut gears since it was only $200 more than the p1X.

After reading through this forum I called & canceled the order for the D1x & bought another p1X. I got straight cut gears this time. That’s the only reason I didn’t like the blower.

I didn’t like how everyone was saying you’ll lose low to mid range with the d1x. Seems like you have to run a lot more boost with it also. I’m making 800 rwhp on 13 psi now.

Perfomance wise it was perfect! I’m still on stock motor & I’m not planning on trying to run 8’s. As long as the car runs mid 9’s I’m fine with that & the P1x does that without a problem.

What’s funny?
I had a Paxton on my 2018 & that’s what it made on 3.3 pulley (15 psi). I have a 2019 now with a Procharger & seems like you have to run more boost to make the same number as my Paxton did.

Thats because CFM and boost pressure is different. 15psi from a small blower is different than 15psi from a large blower.
